Flat white and a cheese scone. The café properly fucked me over on the scone, though. It was barely toasted, had hardly any butter and was not even cut in half. Very disappointed.

Toasted scone?... This is worse than some of the bizzare shit that's been mentioned in the .it thread.
You absolute monster.

No! The worst part is that I didn't even want a scone, I wanted a savoury muffin.

If the people of Lincoln read this they'd be incandescent with rage of how you've turned out since you moved to Upside-Down Land.

Anyway, what's weird about toasting what is essentially a kind of bread?

I'm always a little shocked when cafe staff ask me if I want my banana bread toasted. I mean, who the fuck does that?

I do like banana bread a bit warmed up. But toasting is taking it way too far

Warming scones is acceptable, toasting them is just a bit wierd... In fairness though I'd probably do it in the comfort of my own home, with all the curtains drawn.

I have had porridge the last few days.
Trying to make up for the last week when we were on holiday.
That was all eggs benedict, salmon & scrambled eggs, cooked breakfasts etc.
Not healthy, but fine for a change!

No-one eats breakfast except on a decadent (still up) or horrible (coming down) weekend morning.
The one exception is when you've got to impress your new sexyfriend.

A Flat White but I quite fancy a bowl of porridge this morning too (with some demerara sugar) so depending how much milk I have left it may just be an espresso.
I can deal without food most mornings but I definitely need my caffeine hit

When you say "on" it suggests something other than dippy soldiers and your mum's favourite egg cup.

Poached eggs are dead good, but soft-boiled is less of a faff and still gives you runny yolk goodness.
I suppose all you poseurs only eat wild puffin eggs cooked 60/60.
