I've been unphased using a run of the mill knife out the drawer for cleaning dog shit off the sprogs shoes, a quick rinse in the washing up and they're noshing down on their fish fingers with said knife, well they shouldn't step in dog shit should they.

This does make me worry about the potentially one metre layer of dogshit your children have to walk through, uphill, just to be educated, just like my grandmother said

As if those same picky kids didn't shovel much worse into their mouths voluntarily on a daily basis just a few years prior.

Here's a thought, if pigs are supposed to be quite close to humans anatomically speaking and if pigs can eat human poo why can't humans? I may have imagined the anatomical closeness thing.

Every time I see this thread get bumped I think about the guy who posted asking if he should go see the doctor as he was bleeding out his arse and hope he's doing okay. Can't remember seeing him post since.
Separately, my 3yo girl did a massive poo earlier today. Like an eel it was. Had a tear of fatherly pride in my eye flushing it (the awful smell had nothing to do with it).

I've always assumed that pigs (and other animals) have more robust stomachs/gastro-intestinal systems that are able to filter out some of the more harmful bacteria that would be harmful or fatal to humans.

Yep. wolves, bears, carrion birds for example are able to eat rotting meat because of this

It's an interesting question as to why that is. Is it because no other animal eats cooked food so they either develop immunity or die young? Or do they just get the shits and die more often than we do but no one cares?

Depends on the animal, but (very broadly) it's down to considerably stronger digestive acids, higher bacterial tolerance and a more developed sense of smell as a warning measure.

Plus an animals consciousness is alot more transient. They're not thinking 'hmm that was a dicey tasting thing I ate 6 hours ago if I survive this I should probably avoid that in future'.
Chances are they'll puke or shit and think 'mmm that looks delicious'

Usually the taste buds (or what the brain translates as tasty) control what animals eat. We evolved to find mouldy food disgusting, as those who avoided it had a better chance to produce offspring.

We just had a customer turn up to the building. The first thing he asked was where the toilet is, and he's been in there for nearly half an hour now.
It must be one of those aneurism inducing half stuck ones.
