After a pretty testing night (got about 3 hours sleep) and even more trying morning dudley's finally settled down in his crate and is finally properly relaxing in there. He's always struggled with being locked up in his crate or pen but after several hours of us being resolute and not giving in he's eventually relented. He almost seems calm now! Hopefully one upside is that we might be able to crate him more often after all this!

This is my life now, pushing this guy around in a doggy pram until we're far enough away from the house for him to do a shit.

Why is he licking his nose? How smelly was the aforementioned shit? What did he eat? Or is that code for 'Stop the mobile, I could have a shit here?'

In real life he rarely licks his nose, but in 60% of all photos I have of him he's always licking his nose. Bonus photo This is him 90% of the day atm

Velma typically gets catnapped by my eldest most nights and he insists on closing the door, so the inevitable cat shit finally occurred overnight with a really thick stodgy crap on his sofa thing, thanks for that. 💩

Hopefully, you made him clean it up (the eldest, not the cat!)?

Your eldest must be a deep sleeper, our cats were always very good at letting you know when they needed out for a toilet break!

He is a deep sleeper, she just claws a bit at the carpet, anything else and she meows like mad but no she just claws at the carpet then gives up.

Our cats have brought fleas into the house, which is proving very stressful. We're hoovering twice a day and have used up the last of a can of RIP but it's still not getting all of them.
Anyone had to battle this before, if so what worked for you?

once had to quarantine each room, put that - erm - shake'n'vac but for fleas? powder down on all the carpets, soft furnishings, seal up for a couple of days, then hoover
those heat trap things - like a disc of sticky tape with a light bulb (for heat) in the middle are good at indicating if you have a problem/any survivors but aren't going to make a dent on an infestation - pretty grim tho seeing a couple of dozen on them tho

Trip to the vets I think. You'll need something for the cats

Might still be time for a trip to the vets. Advocat just stopped working for ours and we had to switch to Bravecto.
There was also a bit of an infestation from the previous owner when we moved in, so had to get a pest guy in.

Aye changing to a proper flea treatment can work wonders as cats (or is it the fleas) do seem to get immune. Ours had Frontline for years but that became ineffective, then we switched to Advantage and that was a game changer all of their fleas and the fleas hopping about the floors disappeared practically overnight, though now I think our cat's getting immune to Advantage so we'll have to try another one. Last time I bought some was from Amazon as they were cheapest and hassle free.

Immunity makes sense, I will get the boss to make sure we swap out for the next dose.
I was hovering over a can of Indorex, so that's now bought. I LOVE HOW CHEAP THIS ALL IS. /s

Young Kevin is getting to be quite a handful for my poor middle-aged fella... But there were moments of calm, too Maj has pretty much slept all day, except for lunch and a quick trundle around the block afterwards.
