I’m finally playing Inscryption after having it wish listed for a while. So glad I’ve managed to avoid spoilers until now. Incredible game.

whats coming to GP and whats leaving
not much for me, as not into starcraft or COD, might play mechwarrior depending on reviews (the rest are games I've played)
Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery is worth a play if you want to keep your kids busy and get some achievements for you

No new surprises there, they are bulking up the schedule by putting old games from GP for console old tier to the new shitty standard tier

Somerville is leaving GP on the 15th November. I rather enjoyed my time with it and if you like Limbo and Inside its worth a playthrough I think.

Not a fan of metal slug tactics, its rouge like progression and no real story. Shame as xcom MS type game would of been great but this is not it

For some reason I assumed that Metal Slug Tactics game was the tower defence style one that came out recently. I need to give that a go. I don’t mind the Rogue-like nature as long as it allows for some experimentation in strategy.
It does look excellent, visually speaking.

It looks like the arcade games but a bit more "pixely" at times. it has some rough edges but hope I can give it another go at some point as want to like it

Forgive me for going over well trodden ground but where are we with game pass and stacking at the moment? I’m out the loop as a joyous 5 or so years of super cheap game pass is coming to an end on Wednesday (spread over two separate Xbox’s to boot) and I can’t quite work out what’s the best option now. Is it just 12 months for £80 with a VPN activation at cd keys?

They changed it this year to a conversion rate of 2:1, so 2 years of gold (gamepass core) will convert to 152 days +5 months of Ultimate. 1 year of gold converted is 114 days +3months of ultimate. Essentially they're pushing to eliminate all loopholes and it's not a particularly great deal as it used to be. Remember only to apply the deal when your current sub has expired if you do it before you'll get absolutely fucked over more in the conversion rate. You don't need a VPN unless you're buying it from another country. support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/manage-subscriptions/xbox-game-pass-conversions

Thanks, quite possible I’ve got this completely wrong but maxing out with 2 years of core for £65 or so converts to approx 10months of ultimate? If so thinking one might as well just get 12 months for £80

Some of the conversion examples you've listed earlier are from the "Code Conversions" section and not the "Upgrade Conversions", their both subject to different conversion ratios. 2 years of Core converted on an *existing* Ultimate subscription will only give you just over 5 additional months, but 2 years of Core converted to Ultimate from scratch will net you 12 months. Not sure where the 16 months is coming from, unless I've monumentally misunderstood something from the Microsoft website, which wouldn't be difficult, it's shite.

It may be less now. I converted 2 years of gold to 16 months. Two years won't be a year of ultimate but it will be shit.

I've just checked i am right. 1 year of core upgraded to Ultimate is 8 months. So 2 years works at 16 months. www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2024-this-neat-xbox-game-pass-core-conversion-trick-still-works-for-getting-game-pass-ultimate-on-the-cheap

It is less now, that Eurogamer article is from June, they had a recent clamp down on the ratios when they also stopped people being able to redeem certain subscription codes from Argentina, Brazil and Turkey.
It's definitely 2:1 now, basically half.

Watch the names, one is the legacy name so gives a better deal but not many people will still be on it and I doubt you can register it these days.
When you upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, we'll convert any prepaid time you have on Xbox Game Pass or EA Play subscriptions and apply it toward Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at the current conversion ratio, up to a maximum of 36 months.
Xbox Game Pass Core conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 2:1 and be rounded up to the next full day. For example, 90 days remaining of Xbox Game Pass Core will convert to 45 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time. PC Game Pass conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:2 and be rounded up to the next full day. For example, 90 days remaining of PC Game Pass will convert to 60 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time. Xbox Game Pass Standard and Game Pass for Console conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 4:3 and be rounded up to the next full day. For example, 90 days remaining of Xbox Game Pass Standard or Game Pass for Console will convert to 68 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time. EA Play conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:1 and be rounded up to the next full day. For example, 90 days remaining of EA Play will convert to 30 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time.

Well there you go it's fucking shit. Miraculously they didn't clamp down on India codes, by far the cheapest region. You can grab 3 years of Core for about £60, plus £5 for a 1 month Ultimate code to convert it all into 18 months Ultimate. Puts it's at about £3.60'ish a month. Obviously only for people happy enough to convert via VPN.

Am I mad or is there no yearly sub for Game Pass PC, only monthly rolling (through the app directly)?
ed: found 3 month codes on CDKeys
