Don't fall now so close to the end. The Bell of Doom has tolled and the sands of time are running out for the others. So Quacketh the Duckbreaker! FORZA HORIZON 5 DECLARED IT LATE EDITION! 🤣 on that note what happens at year's end? I would dearly love to get rid of undermine and Forza. Forza is an amazing game but there's too much of it for me. I'm still playing it but I know I'll never finish all of it. Please add Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze to my list which is my last purchase of the year and my customary Christmas Nintendo game. This time last year I got hammered and bought a ton of games (4 I think which is 3 more than I normally buy at a time) in the December Nintendo sale which prompted joining this challenge. I've really enjoyed it and it has made me choose carefully. I rarely have a backlog so nothing changed in that sense but it has encouraged me to do my research and stick to things I know I'll like. I've played some great games as a result with only the odd one I could have done without. I've also tried to 100% stuff until my ability is outmatched which is not something I normally do. It's good this challenge and I'd like to do it again minus the aforementioned games. Also Tropical Freeze is amazing why have I slept on it? Currently 100% each level before I move design wise it's flawless and it feels so good to play. |

Adding a final game before years end, which I've wanted to try for a while and will probably be enjoying over Christmas and into the New Year, so please add 🦆Yakuza Like a Dragon (Legendary Hero Edition) to a slot. This looks like it could be a good laugh plus I'm a fan of turn-based combat, and in that regard this could be an interesting take on the genre.

A small update from me: Two games still on the list. 1. Spelunky has yet to draw me back in. 2. Recore I was really enjoying, but then when you get to the final tower it turns into a glitchy grindfest. Apparently there's six floors you need to finish, each floor with 3D platforming and shooting sections. I got to the end of floor two and it's almost as if they don't want you to finish the game. I'm all for a bit of a challenge, but four more floors of this nonsense I'm not sure I can/want to take. So instead went back to playing Skyrim  Not sure if I'm going to buy anything before Christmas (thinking about Metroid or a new RPG to play during the holidays) |

I appear to have survived. Not a great moment to arrive at the Pelican Down boss fight in Halol Inifinite though. Fuck those guys! Still on target for a glorious victory. Mainly because there’s fuck all in the sales to interest me right now. |

Just finished up 🎯Jedi: Fallen Order. Yeah, I really rather enjoyed that. A nice mix of Star Wars with Souls-like elements, RPG-lite skill progression and a genuinely meaty campaign. Some decent surprises near the end too! It looks nice and runs well on the dedicated PS5 version, with 60fps action throughout. I'd be up for a sequel to this and I'm sure it will eventually happen.

And Wreckfest is done. Never again am I playing to help a friend get an online trophy. The game was utter dogshit. Hoping to finish Immortals when I get a week off. Only one blessing left to obtain, then, hopefully there isn’t too much left to finish the campaign.

DuckbreakerMany thanks for your efforts for another year Duckbreaker, especially given the upheaval of packing our bags from the old place and turning up in this new forum! Personally I've managed to survive another year. The hardest game by far was Darkest Dungeon, and that didn't make my completed list. I put a lot of hours into DD but it seems like there was still so much to do and some lousy RNG later on saw a good few of my decent team members get wiped in a couple of bad excursions.

I had the game on rental and cancelled the service. I was naively thinking it would go on sale, but lowest it has been is £30 and considering how far into it I am it's kinda not worth that to me now. So no, not finished, on account of not actually owning it. I'm thinking of carrying it over spiritually in Elden Ring, but presently undecided. Either way I'm chuffed that I've finally given a From game a proper good go. In the end I think I bounced away more due to boredom than fear. The reality of having to spend several hours training muscle memory to do a boss, only to get ten paces and have to do it all again. The earlier portions of the game balanced exploration vs. bosses a lot better. But when you get on that victory road, it's just boss after boss after boss after boss. Turns out that's not my bag. |

'tis the only From game I've not completed. Spend literally days on the second boss and sold it on. I really wanted to like it but just wasn't fun. There wasn't the usual way of levelling up to smash the bosses as I would normally do unless I was missing something 🤔 I think it was a genuinely "git gud " game.

Like wise, its the only Souls/Borne game I haven't completed. Didn't get that far with it either. Just didn't have the patience with it. It is something I have earmarked to return to do and have a proper crack at though. I think in general this year I haven't had the patience for skilled based games or games that throw endless mumbo jumbo at you. Its why I put Monster Hunter Rise down too. Although I just restarted that yesterday.
Perhaps that could be another element to add on to next years rules. Nominate three games or something from your backlog to complete over the course of the next 12 months. Though I may not be choosing Sekiro haha.
