I'm out for a curry tonight with the Mrs, her parents, brother and his gf. I'm OK with that but the idea of meeting in a small local bar an hour before I'm a little uncomfortable with if I'm honest. Everyone else seems more relaxed about it so maybe I'm the one with the problem.
I feel safer at work! At work or in a supermarket I'm able to avoid the majority of the great unwashed.

I went bowling yesterday with the family. It was if there had never been a pandemic, aside from some hand sanitizer. Despite the place being virtually empty, they still bunched people together.
I've also been in to bars and restaurants over the last week or two as on leave. It's both scary and reassuring how quickly I have got back to normal. I can't be doing with fretting any more.

N.Ireland currently has the highest death rate, highest infection rate and lowest vaccination uptake in all UK.
Guess I'm still staying in this weekend.

Well, survived the week since second Pfizer jab with no side effects, wife had hers today (both with 8 week gaps) so now we just need to wait for the under 16s option so we can take part in the world again...
Meeting limited people outside and careful shopping has been our limit (with masks on from the moment we leave the house until we get home again). Unfortunately had to take part in a funeral a few weeks ago but went full PP2 masks for that day and kept as far from people as possible in the 'wake' part.
Not been in any pubs/restaurants since Feb 2020 and not planning to. All invitations are getting automatically turned down (bar the unfortunate funeral). Sadly the boy has to go back to school soon so I hope they hurry up with the vaccinations for under 16s (he does remain fully masked all day including PE and has a packed lunch in a room to himself (this is the way he wants it, not forced by us)).
It's a weird one, saved money in pubs, meals, takeaways and cinemas but buy more stuck at home treats to balance it.
Mask usage around here (far north of England) is fairly poor but better than I expected it to be after FreeDumb Day.
TLDR = Hurry up and vaccinate our kids!

Yep, saw this after I tested positive yesterday. And like I say, I haven't been out in a week, literally revising and working, and I've still got it somehow.

Should just nuke their government over it This sounds like a realistic policy for the Trump 2024 campaign.

Absolutely fuck all would happen on a diplomatic level. There would be posturing, you'd definitely see an upswell of support for people like Trump who continually bring up that they never trusted China. The most damaging thing would no doubt be a massive increase in hate crimes against people of Asian origin.

Asian hate crimes are already massively increasing as well. A large portion of America has always been racist/terrified of black and brown people but it's a little less commonly known or acknowledged that you can include asian people as well going all the way back to the bloody building of the railroads

In our local Tesco's at lunchtime today, roughly 50% of people not bothering to wear a mask now.
Get home, footy on the telly, Anfield packed with fans. Really feels like this country has just given up. The Tories got their herd immunity plan after all

Despite the fact that with the way mutations work herd immunity is almost impossible.

Where I live Iād estimate much less than 50% wear a mask. In Tesco old people tend to wear them but in Morrisons no one wears them at all

The staff donāt wear them either, which is interesting. I think if they did then people may feel more compelled to wear them too

At my work we now have dedicated staff who are preventing maskless students from entering the couple of buildings that are open at the moment. Not sure how the uni will manage it once term starts and thousands arrive.
All staff masked indoors unless youāre in a private office or hotdesking at least one desk away from anyone else.

My office is busier than it's been for a long time, but we're still masking when moving around and people are kicking off big time when people aren't following protocol.

No jab. In the pub and restaurants every day. Mask got fucked off at the first opportunity. I know a few people who have been a bit ill but not much. Load of old bollocks the lot of it. They used this pandemic to inflict control. Not buying it for a minute.
