Just had my kids vaccinated (had to drive a fair way to do so) and feel a fair bit happier now. I realise the risk is lower for kids, but long covid could seriously screw up their schooling if they got it. One of the kids in my eldest's class has long covid and had hardly been back in class in months.
I'm not used to long journeys in the car. I'm knackered. But feel I've done the best thing for my kids.

No, no. They can't encroach on anyone's person choice of wanting to get severely ill or dying. But yes we all know what the response will be when the inevitable happens and they have to force things through at the last minute. First time around was worse. Lasted longer, shortness of breath was terrifying, and the symptoms were a fair bit nastier. Hopefully I'll mostly be done with this version within a few days. |

I'm flying back to the UK in a couple of weeks and the COVID "precautions" baffle me. I have to get a test within two days of arrive (not departure) and the only thing the government needs is proof that a test has been ordered, not the actual results. So I could in theory test positive and just pretend like I didn't. Whereas to fly back to the US they won't even let me on the plane without proof of a negative test.
