The stupid protestors are all pro-choice when it comes to themselves but flip flop when it comes to others' right to choose.
The school vaccination programme seems to have failed horribly with all sort of excuses, they really need to follow Scotland's model and allow drop in clinics too where the schools are too slow. Sadly can't hop across the border to Scotland to get one because you need to be registered with Scottish NHS...

Definitely do a PCR with any of the main symptoms. My LFTs were all negative. I’m a bit bunged up and have a little bit of a cough (not continuous), no other symptoms. Probably don’t really need one but it’s probably better to be safe I suppose.

What I don't get is (unlike most protests) what actual difference does it make to the protestors if anyone else chooses to get vaccinated? Such a weird way to spend your free time, telling others you think they're wrong...even if their 'wrong' choice is inconsequential to your life. some of the more deranged ones "think" the vaccinated are infect/killing the unvaccinated Mixture of paranoia and being stupid play into it

I don’t know how anyone has had the time to go down the conspiracy well this last 18 months. I’ve never had less free time in my life than during lockdown.

It's bizarre that article makes no mention of China. It's surely odds on they've manipulated their figures massively too, like Russia.
Those claims frustrate me in no small part because we kinda have to assume that the CCP was able to cover up the deaths of a significant amount of people since Wuhan (where they absolutely failed to cover it up! So they suddenly have switched from being utterly incompetent to the best sanitizers the world has ever seen on a dime), which is the usual problem with any conspiracy story: Even an authoritarian government like China can't prevent people from talking about what they're doing. Someone would've talked by now. But they haven't.
The only people htat have made that claim in earnest are people from other governments who are trying to explain why they did a worse job at containing the pandemic then China did. And that sucks, because it's a distraction to avoid talking about the democratic governments which we should be able to take to account and instead talk about some evil authoritarian government half a world away that's completely outside of our control.

The government quite rightly suppressed this report as it might be misinterpreted as suggesting Johnson and co were in some way to blame for fucking around for months, leading to tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths. And now look, that's just what's happening.
Hopefully Priti Patel can find some way to prosecute the traitors who released it. And read it.

Ah. That explains why Steve Barclay didn't read it before being wheeled out to do the breakfast interview flagellations.

Why are the fuck restrictions crowd also the ones super keen to prove that vaccines don’t work, surely you’d want vaccines to be as successful as possible so you can get back to normal

Because they don’t believe any of it is real and it’s some master plan to control us.
Then being against vaccines and restrictions isn’t the most stupid thing they think, thinking those in charge are competent enough to have a master plan is.

We’ve all got big coughs, Baby Maybe’s got a real rapid rattle to his breath, everyone is shattered.
Telephone consultation over him said 999 if he stops breathing but Cov tests all round otherwise.

Don't forget he helped prevent African countries from manufacturing vaccine for themselves. Nice guy.

My sister's two toddlers have been in and out of hospital with breathing difficulties. It's not covid and the doctors are never surprised to see them there! So many other similar little kids that they are placed in overflow wards. This is in Scotland.

Oh shit, I hope they’re ok. I think I’ve read in a couple of places that we’re all going to be more vulnerable to bad colds and the flu this winter after a year+ without much exposure so we’re all going to be a bit sick with something and sicker than we’d normally be.
We had a note from nursery about ten kids being off at the moment with heavy cold, sickness and diarrhoea symptoms. Which broadly fits Baby Maybe’s situation.
All three of us returned negative PCRs yesterdays so thats one worry to shuffle down the league table anyway.

It's almost certainly RSV which is starting to hit hard down here now as well, health leaders were warning about this happening back in the spring but I guess there was nothing that could have stopped it once schools were back.
We've had loads of kids off with it in our kids' schools (we're south-east England so it's defo everywhere!), one girl in hospital last week from our daughter's class. Our daughter was off school for a day a couple of weeks back with very bad wheezing and difficulty breathing, luckily we had an inhaler from when she had a similar problem a few years ago which really helped. But yeah... kinda worrying that we're not even into winter yet

That sounds almost exactly like the symptoms mine had last week. Not as severe luckily but I think he ticked every box on that list otherwise.

My mum’s caught it, she sounds really rough. She just had her booster a few days ago as well, probably too soon for it to have an effect. This shit’s not going away any time soon is it?

Not without any actual measures to control it, no. Even with some measures (not lockdown) it won't go away but our individual risk of infection could be reduced by say 5x if we took the approach of mainland Europe rather than pursuing herd immunity.
Seems like we've fully adopted the classic Tory policy making perspective of "problem? What problem?" (See also Brexit supply crisis, northern Ireland border, free school meals, social care crisis, public transport infrastructure, gas prices/energy firms, old and decaying hospitals, old and decaying schools, house prices, wage stagnation, corporate tax avoidance...)
