Then you have the issue of not producing enough saliva to break it down because it doesn't have any taste.

It's kind of difficult to get your head round. Like is there just absolutely no flavour what so ever? Just nothingness? I could have eaten absolutely anything and not tasted it. My daughter was in nappies at the time and I'd have to constantly check she hadn't had a poo because I couldn't smell anything. |

I honestly don't think I'd be able cope with it mentally. It's terrifying. I'm always a laid back happy go lucky person but I got really down then. Couldn't even drown my sorrows properly as there was no taste to it. |

Did you try much neat alcohol? It's the one thing I always feel could save the day with no taste, you could guzzle any old cheap shite from the back shelf of an off licence and not feel like you'd just tried to ingest toilet cleaner.

Experimented with everything to get some semblance of taste. Straight vodka, rum and even gin.
And gin is THAT drink for me that turns my stomach at just the smell.
And then one day it slowly started coming back. Coffee tasted like actual liquid poo for a few weeks. Meat tasted rotten(pork still not back to normal), fruit tasted moldy. Think it took 2 weeks to get back to near full taste and smell. That was on top of the month of nothingness.

My mate got the no smell thing since he caught it at xmas, black mould and bin bags he smells most of the time, says he has a coffee in the morning he can sort of taste then its black mould all day. Anything with strawberries in it makes the texture like eating dirt in your food.
His wifes hairdresser has the same but fish and bin bags she smells the vast majority of her day and made worse by the chemicals with her job.

I have developed cold symptoms in the last 3 days and today I have been absolutely streaming today... 3 lat flows gave consecutive negative for cov, but awaiting PCR from today... -_-
Hoping it's just tied into October and new students everywhere. About to leave my job, which I started almost exactly 4 years ago and distinctly remember being infected the first week I walked into the hospital I work in.

There are a lot of colds going around. I suspect half the children who tested positive in my class only had symptoms because they had an actual cold alongside COVID.

I think cold symptoms is just how it manifests itself in younger kids. And vaccinated adults to a degree. Which I guess ultimately is what we want. The added respiratory issues are the unwanted symptoms.

They tried to give me the Pfizer but I wrestled it out of their hands and grabbed a Moderna bottle, which I smashed and stabbed the broken glass into my forearm
Hopefully it will all be ok

Our lad got his covid vaccination yesterday, so fingers crossed that's us all in decent shape.
It's been blazing round his school and football team, but he's always shown negative on the lateral flows. Hope that carries on, but at least we've taken all tge precautions we can.

Daughter (11) just tested positive, mild temp and sore throat. I've just tested negative, bizarrely, though I have had a mild sore throat. I'll be doing daily tests to make sure.

Give it a few days. All the parents i know who were double-vacced got it from their kids.
Generally mild though and the kids were pretty much fine.
Hope it's like that for you all too!
