Urgh, so it took a week but eventually succumbed again. Feel fine other than a sniffle, occasional cough and phlegmy throat. So annoyed, was meant to be going away tomorrow. Have postponed until Tues when hopefully I'll be negative.

Very nearly didn't test as I didn't think it could be. Am taking out my frustration in repairing a decking step. It's all a bit trigger's broom.

I had Covid last week for the second time. First time was about a year and a half ago and I had mild flu symptoms for a day but was otherwise pretty good.
This time I had a sore throat for a couple of days which I (stupidly, retrospectively) put down to smoking loads of bines at the weekend. Turns out it was the Rona winding up. I was only really a bit feverish for a day again and I thought I'd got away with it only to get a cough on about the fifth night which left me coughing my ring up for a week.
Bad times. And it cost me a fortune (self employed).
I've had enough of this shite. Anecdotally loads of friends had it and it felt like another wave, but apparently we're on the downslope again. Hoping for another year or so of invulnerability before going down again. I really enjoyed the last one as I wasn't really sick and enjoyed the time off playing video games sitting in my pants. Had this one in the middle of the heatwave and basically just sat coughing and sweating enough that I considered buying a rubber ringer for my gonads.
1/10. Absolute horseshit.

Very different illness so far. Very mild cold and cough, bit sweaty and clammy at night and if I overdo it but no temperature. Fingers crossed I'll be better by Tues to travel.

For the first time someone in my household has finally caught covid. I've had the squirts all morning so hopefully that's not a sign of it.

Not sure it's anything I've eaten, unless the one beer I had last night was a wrong 'un, or the crisp sarnie I had gave me the squirts, which would be more devastating than covid. I love a crisp sandwich.

Not surprised. Know more people that have caught it over the last month than all year.. The curve has already started to flatten on that rise if you look at the most recent stats which is good, however I wonder if we'll do what we did last year.... small dip end Oct into Nov but ramp up into Dec and over Xmas. I can't say I've personally heard of many cases down here in Worthing over the past month, it's usually a sign when people start going down in schools and workplaces but all quiet at the moment.
I had my 3rd jab a couple of weeks ago, covid in one arm and flu in the other, that was fun! Arms hurt a lot of more than before this time, lasted for 2 or 3 days, but not really any other side effects.

Had my autumn booster today. Pfizer again. Was almost in 2 minds whether to bother tbh, given it was so mild last time, even though that was 7 months after my last vaccine. But in for a penny and all that. Eldest had his first today too, he missed so much school last year as a result of catching it, so figured we probably should go ahead.

I felt a little bit weird and been a bit bunged up all week so thought I better do a test before I went to see the parents today and it turns out it's the vid. Feel pretty bad as I've been to the gym 4 times and was out last night but I suppose theres millions of people walking around without knowing.

On the plus side you might have killed a few Tory voters.
Doesn't make you any less of a murderer though.

I woke up with a headache but put that down to the red wine last night. Was fine otherwise but was a bit cold/achey/shivery this afternoon but only lasted a few hours. Fine and dandy now. Weird.

Same. Though I could barely raise my covid arm above horizontal. The flu arm was OK.

My boss attended a funeral today for a friend (42) who treated COVID positive over the weekend and went to see his doctor about back pain on Monday. He was told he has kidney failure and was in hospital looking at dialysis. Wednesday he was told all his organs were failing as his immune system was attacking them. Thursday he died. I was staggered by that. The guy was supposedly fit up until this point. Only just saw this, damn. Terrifying how rapidly that escalated...

It's not doing as much damage as before fortunately but people are a bit shocked when I tell them I'm still cleaning up after at least one infection a week, and this is in 3 sites that are only operating at less than half capacity. It's still a thing that's knocking about and while I'm not saying we should be locking ourselves away there's really no harm in still doing the basics like washing your hands, covering your mouth when you sneeze/cough etc. It's amazing how quickly that disappeared. To be honest that should be getting done without a pandemic but people are dirtbirds.

At one of our work sites loads of people have had it recently, and they’re nearly all well over 50. One manager insisted some of their people came in more, they did and heard about all the covid and went home again.
Stupid managers.

I’ve definitely got it again, but past the worst of it now. It’s really fucked yup my sleep for the last two nights though.
At least that means I should be safe from it over Christmas now.

I’m up to 4 times at least now, relatively mild each time but I always have tiredness and a very high heart rate for a day or two, my brain barely works for a few days and it messes my sleep up a bit too.
