A change is as good as a rest and all that.

I'm 100% work from home these days, but I'm in charge of the school run so that gets me out for a 45min walk every morning anyway, accompanied by an audiobook on the way back. I think if I didn't have that I would force myself to get out for a morning walk each day... I'd start going stir crazy otherwise!

I used to think that my dream job would be one where I could walk to work everyday. I never achieved it. However, it turns out I could go one better: I work almost completely from home (genuinely, about one per cent of my time could be considered “client meetings” and even they are completely my choice). I have a walk to work job, it's really nice. I'm not sure if I could do a commute again. Just from a time and amount of money spent perspective.

I am also the most highly suggestible person in the world, though. You would look dead sexy with a mullet and a handlebar moustache.

Drop the youngest at school, quick 30 min walk after with a podcast before starting work.

Is 28 minutes of that trying to find the right video?
Oh... walk!

Every time I get annoyed with my beard and shave it off, I always leave a massive Lord Melchett moustache, so I will be halfway there in a few weeks as I’m due a beard ragequit soon.

Still feeling it here, but it really hasn't got any worse. Slightly scratchy throat, mild cough, snotty, a little sneezy. Honestly, I've had far, far worse colds. Pleased as I was quite anxious about it, although more about long COVID, which I suppose might still happen. Though I don't know if that's a thing with Omicron.
I took leave this week because of my breakup, and my manager has converted it to sick leave, which is good.
Having said all this I'll probably wake up tomorrow with a pneumothorax and have to live in an iron lung or something

I'm not feeling too bad, Tuesday was pretty crap feeling but now it's just an annoying cough.
I am finding myself result distracted by this site and Reddit and stuff but that's nothing new.

Yeah, FT and other places have been listing global excess mortality as being something like that. Wonder how many people are suffering long covid..

I took a negative flow test last night as I've been grotty and horrible for a couple of days but also think it's my hayfever going mental.
I only started suffering in the last 5 or so years and only very mildly but since bank holiday I've been doing some pretty violent sneezes, bleary eyed and even going outside earlier made them hurt.

Thinking back I might well have been symptomatic on Sunday too, but I'd wrote that off as a hangover.

Maybe everyone is drinkimg more so every day is a hangover day?

I cant think of anyone other than my gran, who literally never goes out, who hasnt had it yet. The pool of covid virgins must be vanishingly small.
The mrs has it again and is in quarantine as we speak, we think her uncle gave it to her at a family do last week. Im genuinely astonished that I havent tested positive yet.

We're still going strong, covid free. The use of FFP2 masks when mixing with strangers indoors seems to be effective.

I don't THINK I've had it. Closest I came was the other week for a couple of days but 2 flow tests were negative.
I think I'm magic.
NB - I've been to gigs, pubs, football since last October and generally maskless for the last couple of months.

We've never had it yet. Not having kids and working from home most of the time is probably a big part of that.
Having said that, I was at a mate's 50th at the weekend and met up with old mates from uni. Was discussing it and realised that not one of the six of us has had covid yet despite all of them having school age kids (except me). Some of their kids and/or partners had caught covid at some point but none of them. So, although it might seem like everyone has had it, there are still plenty of people who have dodged it thus far.

Vaccines and repeated exposure to it have built up shit loads of natural immunity in the population now so most people that do have it barely know about it now. Unless you've been hiding away in a bubble while your vaccine wears off in which case you could still be well fucked when you get it. Obviously no one's that stupid though.

Yeah, Im sure I must have had it asymptomatically at least once. Like having been sat with people I *know* have gone on to have it or attending a work meeting where everyone with the app has been pinged a few days later.

Think I'll continue as is, reduce my risk of getting it, probably get a booster in Autumn. No temptation to start doorhandle-licking here.

Another "if I've had it, I'm unaware" here.
Not sure how, but either the home tests were inaccurate or we were asymptomatic.
