He put parmesan cheese on top of the leftovers. I don't think any Chinese woman would stand for that.

Needs to find someone that is half Italian/Chinese. That narrows the field down a bit though.

I was kinda shocked that NZ has been closed off for that long.

We did have a 'travel bubble' with Australia and Rarotonga for a few months last year.

We had an on site work jamboree last tuesday. 200 people crammed into a room with broken aircon. Over the weekend everyone on my team who still has the app was pinged and a few of them have tested positive.
Lucky we arent an operational team... oh... wait...

Was doing some grocery shopping and started coughing, got home and tested positive, so fuck knows how many I infected this morning. I did the same thing. At least I have plenty of food in. Loads of beer too, although I can't drink it. Still feeling okay, no worse than a cold ATM. Runny nose, mild cough, a very mild headache that is likely just being bunged up. Hopefully it continues like this.

I just have a scratchy sore throat and annoying cough, but it's just the fatigue and mental slowness that's annoying me.
Going to use it as leverage to finish work earlier at least. Shame I'll probably, actually be to knackered to take advantage of my extra free time.

Ive got a scratchy throat and a headache but just tested negative, but I think its just a matter of time. I am also the most highly suggestible person in the world, though.

I had 2 negative tests done last week at Docs, it really is fucking torture. It amazes me that it doesn't phase so many people, it's seriously unpleasant.

Its surprisingly normal. I was sat in a room full of people I hadnt seen in person for 2+ years and it doesnt take long to get back into the swing of things.

I've really enjoyed being back in, seeing old and new faces. There's a lot of guff about collaborative working, but there's a clear benefit to actually meeting people every now and then.

I think I would go in more if fuel hadnt gone bananas. If I still had the old BMW, to go back more or less full time like I used to, it would now cost me the same in diesel as it would to lease a new, mid-tier electric car.

As my team don't have a central location, we end up having the same Teams calls regardless of whether or not any of us are in the office.
I basically go in for a change of scenery and to visit the street food market in town.
It can be good seeing people from the wider group but whilst exchanging pleasantries is nice it's not exactly work. And sometimes it's just distracting.
That said I do like the separation between work and office it creates. I usually end up faffing around when I WFH, and end up working later, but if I'm in the office I'll get through my tasks quicker and just finish earlier.

We've settled on 4 shifts a month in the office. No idea how I used to sit in an hour of traffic every morning in the before times.

I've always thought of a commute any longer than 30-45 minutes as an affront to human decency. There's a guy in our office who does 2+ hours each way every day. I have no idea how he does it, I would have a breakdown after about three days.

Quite a few people in our Uni have that sort of 1 1/2 to 2 hour commute... With 8 am classes. Which in some cases they have to be at, because some teachers factor attendance into the grade (thankfully not any I've had, and I'd imagine post-pandemic it got toned down).
Thank goodness I live close to it is all I'm gonna say.

I've just gone from a roll out of bed at 8.50 and be in at 9 type job for one that takes 45 minutes to get to. I'm feeling a lot better having a bit of time to myself in the car to wake up/wind down and listen to a podcast or whatever. I'm sure the novelty will wear out in a couple of months but I quite like it.

I used to think that my dream job would be one where I could walk to work everyday. I never achieved it.
However, it turns out I could go one better: I work almost completely from home (genuinely, about one per cent of my time could be considered “client meetings” and even they are completely my choice).
