Parts linked to smell and memory. Likely to repair itself. Much less common with omicron.

I’ve just tested positive today for the first time ever.
Really annoying as I was in work last week for a couple of days and a few of us caught it off a person who apparently thought he had just a cold and didn’t even test as ‘CoVid is over’. This is after me missing shows etc. at my own expense over the last couple of years whilst being really careful. The wife had some hospital tests lined up for Thursday that she has been waiting months on which I guess we will cancel now as well.

Despite having spent my pandemic
1. Going in to work every day during lockdown 2. Seeing multiple people face to face with COVID on a fairly regular basis 3. Spending time in the company of multiple people who subsequently tested positive within days 4. Spending a week in London when Omicron was kicking off, travelling on the tube and going to packed theatres and bars and whatnot
I have never got COVID.
I don't think I'm magically resistant though. My body is just going to fuck with me and I'm going to come down hard when everybody has forgotten what COVID is and I've got a holdiay booked. You wait.

Yeah I’ve always been careful but everybody in my work bar myself and one other colleague has had it now. Plus my wife and two daughters in my house have had it, with no social distancing (as We didn’t think it was fair on the kids). Im thinking of getting a Petri dish of pure covid and snorting/drinking it. Just to test my superhero power

Or you're the superspreader. I was amazingly lucky how that trip I had to that market in Wuhan was *just* before things kicked off there. Would have really sploit my holiday if I got caught up in all that. Luckily though I had a lovely time, building up my collection of rare bats.

So bizarrely, neither my wife or I can smell sulphur properly any more since our second bout of COVID in October last year.
Eggs, farts etc... all has this bizarrely "metallic" smell to it (can't really think of any other way to describe it). You'd think it would be some sort of improvement, it very much isn't. Quite unsettling.

That's my fortress fallen. Me, the other half and the boy got it since testing him on Saturday. Youngest is still testing negative strangely and she is the one to worry about.
Don't feel too bad so far. Just a sore throat like any cold I get.

Quite unsettling. Oh wow - same for me - had it in November and I'm still not smelling certain smells 'right' - anything sulphur has a weird metallic tang. Also, certain curry ingredients have the same metallic smell too.
Bah. You Omicron lot had it lucky.

Interesting. I may have to search through my spice cabinet to see what doesn't smell right.

Our 4 & 6 year olds are both at home with it currently. Their school is still operating a full 10 day policy unless you can prove 2 negative tests after day 5. Not really sustainable with tests disappearing in a couple of weeks.
Unless they're expecting people to pay for them, something will have to give I presume.

Missus got a text from a friend she stayed with at the weekend who has it. Positive test for her this morning with mild symptoms.
If I don't get it now I'll be disappointed. Two years without it hitting our house is good innings.

So I know more people who currently have it than at any other point in the last 2 years. I also know none of them have taken a pcr test, so the current figures are probably well off.

Yeah, missus is on the mend and I really can't see any point of doing more than LFDs at this point.
Overhearing her talking to her parents is like a window into Boris' wet dream, though. "No mum, we probably should stay in tomorrow and not go out for a meal despite what the rules say."

Done nothing but sleep today off and on and felt fatigued as fuck in general so decided to dig out a LFT just for curiosity's sake. Positive. That's twice in around 2 months.
No surprise really as people are fucking riddled with it here at the minute. The boy's school is so bad, what teachers are left working are having to work in the canteen to get lunches out.

A teacher acquaintance of mine got it for a second time a month after she'd had it before, around Christmas. Immunity doesn't seem to last long.

Slightly different varient going round which probably evades immunity from the last one. We're all going to get it multiple times.
