Do your real life friends ever call you out for being a massive fanny sometimes, or do they just let it slide more than here

Dougs in future please can you remember that some countries are requesting that masks are still worn so as not to upset Ecosse. Yes, sorry, should have been "most" countries. I didn't have my spreadsheet handy. My general point was that at we will all eventually end up where we are in the UK.

Even the Blessed Nicola, as my father in law calls her, is doing the same. And tbf, the SNP have been far more on it.

Ack, just tested the 7 year old because she said she had a headache and felt really tired and we've hit the jackpot baby. Schools are definitely breeding grounds.

Sometimes it's nice to believe that idiots only exist in your country, and obviously America (sorry spooky)
They're everywhere unfortunately.

Our current workplace guidance is come to work but wear a mask if you have it. Considering we spend most of the day handing things to people it does feel irresponsible.

Sometimes it's nice to believe that idiots only exist in your country, and obviously America (sorry spooky) They're everywhere unfortunately. No that's fair. Thought the tinfoil hats bit in the url was the journalist mocking the citizens, but no. He was accurately describing the events. I did come to the realization today that I no longer care about covid. I still wear my masks and keep my distance, but it's basically automatic now. Like, this is just the world we live in. It's as natural as picking up my phone and keys before I leave home now. But it's never actually a thought in my mind that I might get sick, nor the complications that could manifest if I did.

General Covid question
Anyone find that their regular colds are significantly worse after having it?
When I was testing positive a few weeks ago I was symptomless but then got a cold a fortnight ago that completely did me in for almost the whole time between then and now

I've found that colds are worse now anyway, that was before I caught covid.

I haven't had a proper cold in two years and I'm dreading the next one because it'll doubtlessly be a massive kick in the nuts. One of the upsides and downsides to masking up I guess.

Yup, the cold I had around Christmas properly kicked my arse. Assume it's my shit immune system after avoiding such things for 2 years.

I don't know what I had a few weeks ago but it wasn't Covid and it did indeed kick my arse worse than most things.

Yep, I had a terrible cold that lasted weeks earlier this year, before I got COVID.

I've been back to the office twice since November and both times about two days later came down with atrocious colds that lasted a couple of weeks. This is despite having two school aged kids who'd you think it would be more likely to get a cold from.

Turns out that Covid hasn't been banished you guys. The mrs finally succumbed to it and tested positive yesterday. She's not well at all, but so far only in the form of flu symptoms. Despite being with her for the last few days before she tested, I decided to sleep on the sofa last night (and will again tonight and tomorrow) to see if I can try and avoid getting it myself. Oh, and of course this coincided with us having ACTUAL PLANS to have a night away this weekend. LOLS eh. LOLS. So I was told by the other half that I should go ahead with the plan to go to a party without her on Saturday. She wasn't as bad as the first few days, and I tested negative Friday and Saturday (as did the kids) so I stuck the kids with nan and grandad, and went away for the Saturday night to a 50th. Guess who's coughing his lungs up, has a weirdly painful eye (wtf?) and 2 kids off with positive LFTs? (It's me.)

I'm pretty much ready to drop my mask now. I'll keep one with me and if a shop requests me to wear one I will, but frankly as masks have always been there to protect others more than the wearer, given how many people have stopped it seems pointless to continue. And at least it means I can wear my glasses and actually read things from a stand a distance again.
Might keep wearing a mask in busy public transport though.
