I've tested positive. Fuck. Calling the GP when they open as I should be eligible for the antivirals due to my chemotherapy. Could do without this though. Fingers crossed man

Lateral flows already gone for order from government website. I work in a primary care setting so my advice hasn't changed. Going to have to work out where I can get tests from now.
I get that we have to move on but it'd be nice to be able to test myself as I work with a couple of vulnerable colleagues or colleagues that have vulnerable family members. We wear masks etc at work but still a chance to pass on due to close proximity and probably poor ventilation at work.

Turns out they've taken it off the NHS app but can still find them through the website. That's something...I thought they'd thrown caution to the wind.

Nah, you've got until April to stockpile. Think someone said you need to allow 36 hours between orders.

It’s really cool that you can eradicate a virus by wishful thinking and pretence. Should have done it earlier.

Every country is now doing the same. The difference Will be in the access to testing.

Turns out that Covid hasn't been banished you guys. The mrs finally succumbed to it and tested positive yesterday. She's not well at all, but so far only in the form of flu symptoms.
Despite being with her for the last few days before she tested, I decided to sleep on the sofa last night (and will again tonight and tomorrow) to see if I can try and avoid getting it myself.
Oh, and of course this coincided with us having ACTUAL PLANS to have a night away this weekend. LOLS eh. LOLS.

Every country is now doing the same. The difference Will be in the access to testing. That's really not true, countries that are reducing restrictions are not removing all of them, Poland, Italy etc. still will keep things such as mask wearing indoors. Germany will not relax most measures till spring and will then also keep mask requirements.

Germany had 225 thousand new cases yesterday. We had 39 thousand. And? They have said that when case numbers allow they will remove most restrictions by spring but NOT mask wearing. Is that the same as the UK or not?

Again I'm struggling to see what point you're trying to make. "Well Germany are keeping restrictions until spring". Yes because their cases are 6 times higher than ours.

And it's already established that in the face of Omicron, mandated mask wearing makes very very little difference to overall transmission. It may *may* slow the spread a small amount, which is only helpful if your hospitals are at risk of being overwhelmed. Otherwise it just gives more time for vaccine immunity to wane.

It's really not complicated, Dougs said that everyone the same as the UK, I gave examples of those who aren't. Once again, Germany said that EVEN WHEN THEIR CASES ARE MUCH LOWER THEY ARE NOT REMOVING MASK REQUIREMENTS. Spain's 7 day rolling average is lower than the UK's and THEY ARE NOT REMOVING MASK REQUIREMENTS. Hope my point is clear, it's incorrect to say that every country is doing the same as the U.K. Because they are not.

So it's just masks then. That's why you keep banging on about this because you want everyone to keep wearing masks?

Half the people weren't even wearing the masks anyway. I was in Dublin at the weekend where THEY ARE STILL MEANT TO WEAR MASKS. And hardly anybody was. In bars and restaurants nobody was.

Dougs in future please can you remember that some countries are requesting that masks are still worn so as not to upset Ecosse.
