We decided not to isolate the kids when they got it. Just didn't seem right at 9 and 11. A few years old and they'll barely be leaving their pits anyway. Yeah ours are 9, 5 and 2. We didn't even bother trying to not get it really. The younger two especially need looking after so you do what you gotta do and take what's coming for you

Yeah ours are 12 and 15 which helps. They're overjoyed to be left alone all day with a remote.

My mate and his dipshit unvaccinated wife both have it at the moment. He's got a bad cold, she's in bed, can't move and says it feels like her throat has closed up.

Feel pretty normal this morning... Touch wood. Hopefully I can test negative later today and then again tomorrow and be released unto the world again. I spoke too soon. Was fine till about 1pm, then felt very nauseous and eventually fell asleep for about 3 hours. Sigh.

Her family are all fucking nuts. Her mother sells mood crystals and shit like that so she didn't have much of a chance. They're all inbred toffs.

Covid house update...
The girl still has a positive test on day 6. Symptoms are all but gone for her though thankfully. Wife and baby still quite unwell. They are on day 5 since positive test so hoping they are through the worst of it now.
The boy has generally been fine. Had a rough couple of days but was fine as long as he was kept topped up with calpol. Like him, I'm on day 4. Feel a bit rubbish and really tired, but have managed to work most of the week, except Tuesday.
Hoping we can all be free by Monday.

And my partner has covid. She thinks picked up from a school visit last Thursday. She feels like she has a minor cold.
I'm, so far, testing negative. Go figure.
First time this has happened. Guess it was bound to happen at some stage.

I'm still testing positive on day 8. Funnily enough thats only on the newer type (nose only) tests. The old nose and throat ones I've been negative mostly the whole way through. Those newer ones are quite hard to come by at the moment though.
Anyway, Mrs out of isolation tomorrow and the kids are going back to school. It feels like its been a long 10 days! Fortunately, myself and the older 2 kids haven't had it too bad, and the Mrs and baby seem to be through it now as well.
Hope all is ok Eleven.

Our son tested positive last Friday (first time any of us have had it here, feels kind strange). That was on our last of the smaller nose-only ones... me, my wife and daughter have all tested negative every day snce but it's all been on the older throat + nose ones, like you say it seems impossible to get the other ones now. So fuck knows if any of us actually have it or not.

Yeah I've found those old nose and throat ones pretty useless. Even at the height of it the line was so faint I wasn't even sure it was there. Had to confirm with a pcr.
We managed to get a couple of packs of the nose only ones by sending my mum to a pharmacy to pick them up for us.
Hope you and the family are ok.

The 11 days takes my partner upto the day she is meant to go skiing! The Doctor in her ski group said to delete the NHS covid app, and don't get a PCR test! Blimey...

I was testing positive for 12 days, on both the old and new test kits. First clear test was Monday and most of the symptoms have now gone, bar a bit of a cough and feeling rather tired generally.
Felt recovered enough to go out for a run just now, but fucking hell that was hard work! Only 6 km at a really easy pace, but it felt like running through treacle. Struggled with my breathing and had to stop due to coughing fits a couple of times. Going to leave it a few more days before trying that again.
Supposed to be running a half marathon next month, not sure whether that's realistic now. Anyone have any experience of getting back to regular exercise after covid? How long did it take to get a reasonable level of fitness back?

I went for first post covid run on Sunday and it was awful. I managed about 500m before I started feeling tired. Trudged to about 4km before I gave up and walked home. Was shocked at how my fitness dipped, but wasn't sure if covid or just lack of running for a week or so.
Literally about to head out for another run... So see how this goes...

Ugh, that run last night was a massive mistake, my breathing's been fucked since. Feel bloody awful today. Not sure I'll be able to get the fitness back for the half marathon next month. Was considering a marathon in May, though will be way behind in the training for that now...
Tomo, how did your 2nd post covid run go?

There have been links to that and long Covid. Hope you both feel better soon. Take it easy for a few weeks, maybe do granny pace runs?

Wasn't aware of the link between exercise and long covid, will definitely be taking it easy a bit longer.
Last night's run was granny pace tbh, about 20s/km slower than I ususaly go for an easy run. Was supposed to be a threshold session too, no chance of that anytime soon though.

I’m definitely still well out of shape since my bout with Covid in December.
I try to get the odd walk to school in, on the days we have time, but the weather’s been no help.
Gah.

I wasn't in great shape before Covid, god knows what I'm like now!
I'm still testing positive on day 9. Feeling ok, just a bit bunged up in the morning and feeling really tired through the day. Although that may partly be due to being stuck in the house for so long.

I went back to the gym on day 8 and felt fine. Where is this research about not exercising because it makes long covid worse? Can't say I've seen it mentioned anywhere.

First I've heard of it too. Is there a source that isn't a 300 post Twitter thread by some randomer?
