Got an email from the school saying there’s been a positive case somewhere, but in line with Government guidelines test and trace will get in touch with those affected. How exactly? Is my 7 year old supposed to check in on the app? They don't contact the school, and will only contact those the positive case identifies and gives details. |

If it's an LFT don't take it as written if you have any doubts whatsoever. I have a friend recovering from a confirmed case and LFT didn't show until he was into about his third or fourth day of symptoms. Another friend's dad died of it after a negative LFT. Not trying to scare you...but there's a reason, if symptomatic, you are supposed to get a proper one. If you are OK and it's precautionary or for work, fair dos. I understand that the more days in a row the more likely LFT is supposed to work, I believe they are not that sensitive and need a fair amount of virus before they will show. The gagging, do one or two a week and that gets reduced. It doesn't take a big gap for your body to regain the gag reflex though 😂. Another thing that helps me is don't do it gingerly at all, just grab the shit and deepthroat it with a minimum of thought.p |

It's one where if I was the interviewer I'd have ended up losing my job. He's infantile, dishonest, and too thick for the position he's been placed into. Disgusting. |

Is this the most suitable thread to talk about how Nicki Minaj said her cousin's friend got swollen balls from the vaccine and everyone took it seriously and Chris Witty said to ignore it and Boris Johnson said he wasn't familiar with Nicki Minaj so then she Tweeted a recording for Boris in a pretty decent British accent and also called Laura K a dumbo? I don't really have anything to add apart from that, but it's been a wild couple of hours on Twitter I love how half Minaj's followers are pointing out that Kuenssberg isn't classically beautiful in some weird and unnecessary retaliation. So much for female empowerment and ally-ship. |

Eldest just confirmed as positive, only mild cough so far. We expected the youngest had it but he's just got a bad cold apparently.
Surprised we've made it this far without getting it, hoping none of us catch it off the eldest now who's currently locked away in his bedroom watching some awful shite on Netflix inbetween school work.
The test was so traumatic for the youngest too, nursery have said he can go back if he has a clear lateral flow test but there's no way I can put him (and us) through that experience again unless absolutely necessary so he's staying at home with us.

I'm hardly surprised but Dave Mustaine went off on anti-mask mandate at one of his gigs. Equating masks to tyranny. Yes Dave a bit of cloth is tyranny.
Although it's a band I'm supposed to liked (as I'm into some similar bands) I've never really enjoyed Megadeth, always found them a bit pointless, and Dave's rather questionable conspiracy-toting views made it hard to warm to him... So this is just par-for-the-course I guess.

Hoping they announced the rule changes for holidays (heard it was this afternoon) as really need a proper holiday. Had both shots of chimp juice as its called on here, plus no issues wearing a mask abroad.

I'm currently waiting for my test results. Feeling sick as a dog, I wake up shivering in the middle of the night and then wake up with the bed sheets soaked from my sweat in the morning. Hopefully it's just a throat infection.

Glad they got rid of of the amber list, it was stupid in the first place as it was more of Boris' wishy washy, well you can go there....but maybe you shouldn't... (as Labour said it first and boris didn't want to do something the others said
going to see what countries are ok to travel to at the start of october and get something booked.

I can't really make sense of this all due to living in NI, so maybe someone can explain it to me.
I'm thinking of going to Madrid in November. If I flew from Belfast I'd have to change in London or somewhere then go on to Madrid from there, which is straightforward enough as it's just UK to Spain so I can understand that.
My confusion comes from it being easier and cheaper to get a bus to Dublin and flying direct. I'm fully vaccinated but I don't understand if I need to do anything on the Ireland side, if I need a pre flight PCR or if I can just go through with my NI Covid pass. Would be flying on an Irish passport if that matters.

I live in NI and recently flew in and out of Dublin. On the coach Belfast - Dublin and back no one asked anything. At the Dublin airport they asked for my vaccination, I showed the NHS app and they were happy. On the way back from Albania (amber list at the time) I showed my Irish travel trace form and my NHS app and they were happy. Lufthansa has this very useful tool for checking requirements: lufthansa.travel-regulations.com/?language=en&apptarget=external%20Oh, my test results came back negative (approx. 36 hours after posting the kit back), so I've just got tonsillitis. :/ |

This may help. www.spth.gob.es/info-pcr at least on the part of Spanish requirements. www.spth.gob.es/But they update the requirements and risk countries lists weekly so It's hard to say what the future says. |
