Well, my parents got it. They're fine, but I can feel the walls closing in on me lol
I don't have symptoms, and testing is so limited right now that they're advising people without symptoms to just operate as normal. It's pretty fucked though, I'm so paranoid right now.
I'm having trouble sleeping, so I'm tired a lot of the time. Maybe it's just the heat, or maaaayyybe...
Oh damn, I've got a headache. Is it just that I haven't had my caffeine hit today, or...
Etc etc

I’ve felt absolutely terrible for a week now, excruciating headache, sore throat, cough, mucus, no energy, hot and cold spells
Not COVID though as I’ve done LFTs, I just think there are some bad winter bugs going round at present

I'd do a PCR and not trust the wanky LFTs.

You should get a PCR if you have symptoms.

I had a bad one a few months back that made me bedbound for a week. My colleague (who is in his 70s) just got over one that took him a month to recover from. Other colleague had one that took ages to clear. All negative on lfts and pcrs. They are lingering a lot longer than usual.

It totally floored me, I could only function with the help of Lemsip Max Strength. The bad news. The sodding cough is still here two weeks later and a relative said it took her three weeks to get rid of the cough.

I wonder if colds are stronger as a reaction to all the basking and distancing over the last year leaving less aggressive strains to die out in favor of those that can break through our defenses

This was probably more a feature of 2021, after the proper lockdowns - although probably got a long tail. It's been well documented that there have been a lot more bad respiratory diseases, particularly among children.

I'm going to call it my Jambo's eye. If Adam gets his Adam's Apple why can't I name pee hole after me?

Our eldest has got it.
It's now a "guess who gets it next" situation for the rest of us.
"Funnily" enough my wife had just been telling me about a guy who died from it a handful of days after catching it.

There’s been an outbreak among the staff at kid’s nursery and another at my wife’s work so there was no dodging it this time.
They’re both coughing away and he’s got the shits but I’m symptomless so far.
Can’t even milk it as a chance to watch X Files and play games all week because I’m going to be stuck parenting like a chump.

Hope the simple household is ok.
There's an outbreak at my wife's school. I think now over half the class is down with it, including the teacher. So she's now teaching all week, be a miracle if she avoids it.

I'm not symptomless but I've not tested positive as yet either. Eldest tested positive again.
Got sore and light sensitive eyes, runny nose, sneezing, cough and a bit of dizziness and I'm tired. I'm now in bed. Just been asked to order a PCR test by Zoe. I'm sure that will be negative too.
I bet I still wake up at 4 am though!

My symptoms are kicking in now. Sore throat, a bit snotty, slight headache and general achy tired feeling all over.

Went to the inside of a pub for the first time since Jan 2020 on Saturday. It's close to craven cottage and it was rammed for about 30 mins.
I guess I'll find out in 5 days that I have Covid.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but a coworker is returning today to work from her trip abroad to India. Her flight touches down sometime around now and is going to be in the office from this afternoon straight from the airport. She's supposedly negative from the predeparture test but...flying on 2 planes, travelling between airports and taking the bus as she can't drive...that's surely asking for trouble?

Why on earth doesn't she WFH, get a test or 2 at home before coming in. 2 flights and straight to the office at the best of times is mental anyway...

I thought you were required to isolate until the Day 2 test result comes back? Have they dropped that now?
