If you are making coffee for 2 people then might be reason to get V60, but otherwise both capable kit.

Way to make me feel bad for being single and having no friends!

As a single-coffee saddo (wife doesn't drink it post COVID), I find the V60 slightly less hassle than the aeropress. But I'm a heretic and basically just slosh a little bit of water in to wet the grounds then fill it up while wiggling the kettle a bit.

I'd love to see a totally deadpan YouTube video, demonstrating your patented V60 technique. The non-FG coffee wankers would have a fit!

Lavazza Rossa here. It does the job. I have pretty limited choice here in the wilds of Norfolk and I haven’t done an order from my online providers of choice for ages.

I do indeed have one, in amongst my plethora of other coffee related shite. It doesn't get used much now, but has it's place. It was more the bean choices, now i am a full on coffee wanker buying lightly roasted beans as freshly roasted as possible. Although I bought some beans i didn't like (tasted of bergamot- not good in coffee IMO) and did try to dilute the shitness down with some morrisons beans. Lesson learnt:- just throw out beans you don't like, don't extend the nasty taste pain for another week.

SHAME! SHAME!
I'm still loving my aeropress. Having one cup a day, and it makes a nice break from work for a few minutes. Starting to allow the kettle to cool a bit before pouring (but not enough of a coffee wanker to get a thermostat out), and will start weighing instead of eyeballing it soon. Getting fairly consistent results, but really enjoying the cup today and it'd be nice to replicate that exactly.
Went to buy a bag of beans from that odd beans site a few pages back, but 1kg seems a bit excessive for a cup a day and 500g not really worth it considering the postage costs.

Best supermarket coffee I've found by far, is the Union coffee stuff in Sainsbury's: a bit more than standard prices but cheaper than most online coffees. The decaff is my go to for afternoon onwards

Yeh the union coffee is decent, and they also give you a 'roasted on' date which is rare for supermarket coffee. However, it's now £6 for a 200g bag of beans, making it only slightly cheaper than the £8 a bag with delivery for 250g of beans from Hasbean, and that stuff is freshly roasted.

Might try to get some of that. A decent cheaper decaf would be great for evening drinks. Post-covid lockdown shite i am not really drinking the proper stuff beyond 7pm.
Was drinking far too much when wfh briefly and think my sleep was definitely altered. Normally that was never an issue, but those definitely weren't normal times!

Now look, I was once like him too.
Quite recently, in fact.
Although now I think about it, I was disgusting.
Carry on!

Her sense of taste and smell changed. She can't eat sweet things any more either and she used to love them.

My COVID-19 bout was first week of December 2021, and it feels like my taste and smell will never really come back.
I have 50-75% of some taste, but some things remain completely without flavour.

Damn, even post-recovery? That's awful. Yeah, she had it pretty early on, before there were any vaccines. A friend's son still has literally no sense of smell. Can't even smell festival toilets apparently.

From a coffee wanker's perspective, I found this to be highly disappointing:

I’m a great believer in the fact that nothing should taste like coffee other than a cup of coffee.
