Its going to join the box o'stuff on the shelf. Slightly selfishly, Ive taken over the peninsula in the kitchen and made it into an actual cafe.
Ive put a backboard up with hooks to hang milk jugs and whatnot on and Ive got all the daily drivers out on it: espresso machine, grinder, gooseneck kettle, scales, v60, melitta filter machine and a velvetiser.
Above the peninsula is a box where the aeropress, hand grinder, mokka pot and so on live and I think the cold brew will be joining them.

The Mizudashi has gone to its new home, where it'll hopefully arrive in one piece.
I'll be jettisoning the V60 as soon as I've used up my current stash of filter papers, so if anyone wants to preemptively snag it on the same 'cover postage costs and it's yours' basis, feel free.
Lastly, I'll probably pop the moka pot on eBay tomorrow evening if no-one here fancies it - I doubt I'll get much, but it's worth a shot.

Oh, good! Thanks for letting me know. Was it all in one piece? You probably know this already, but if you want to drink some cold brew in the morning, you'll want to prepare it ASAP - most of the brewing guides out there recommend leaving the coffee to soak in the water for anywhere from 12 to 24 hours.

I always assumed that the "acidic" elements of lighter roasts would play merry hell with my acid reflux, which is one of the reasons why I shied away from them until recently; however, that hasn't proven to be the case at all.
In fact, the only coffee-induced reflux I've had came from some very dark roasts - notably Darkside from Divine Coffee, and Hot Lava Java from Taylors of Harrogate - so maybe I've had it ass-backwards all this time.

Tomo I really liked it - a pleasant acidity and some nice fruitiness. I think it may be seasonal, though, as it's not on their website at the moment insofar as I can tell 
EDIT: Or it could just be out of stock! Maybe worth sending them an email?

Would I be right in assuming that I don't have to use Gaggia-branded descaler to descale a Gaggia espresso machine, and that any descaling product will work just fine?

That was my thinking, but I wanted to open it up to the FG coffee wanker brain trust before I caused more problems with the Gaggia than I already have  Yes, I use filtered water. Just a Brita jug - nothing fancy - but it has to be better than the hard water we get straight from the taps. |

I used Dezcal for descaling my espresso machine and kettle. Cafiza for getting rid of stale coffee stains. Both great. Dezcal is mean to plastic bits though, as I found out in with a different kettle recently...

Going to London tomorrow, 5am start. Looks like Prufrock have that fancy vintage Italian machine James Hoffmann bought so I suspect there might not be room for me to call in for a very quick brunch after my train but here's hoping. Looks like they're doing a limited edition blend too which I'll try to pick up on the way home later in the week.

What Nick said - apparently they've been taken aback by the popularity of the lever machine and the new espresso blend (the latter of which has sold out in Square Mile's online shop, making Prufrock one of the few places at which it's still available). I'd give it a shot anyway, but don't be too surprised if the place is packed!

Yeah, I won't be too choked up if I can't get their fancy egg sarnie tomorrow as I'm fat enough and there are plenty of good places for a quick bite in the City, but I'd really like to be able to pick up some of those limited edition beans with a cake on the way back on Thursday. Their banana and chocolate loaf looks terrible but tastes great.

My friend loves Prufrock and went to sample the new blend from the new machine. Got it brought out to him alongside a Red Brick. He was blinded to which was which and when the barista asked him how he found them, turned out he got them completely the wrong way round. Absolutely delicious.
I had a taste of the new blend at his place yesterday. Was pretty nice. Fairly straightforward, satisfying espresso blend.

Oh, I'd definitely not be in any kind of state to try and identify a coffee at that point, I'd be happy with the stuff from their standard machine as I wouldn't be able to 'properly' enjoy it. I've been perfectly happy going through a bag of a local (Flat Caps) basic espresso blend lately as it's so easy to make good coffee with it.
