This was today's offering from my new favourite place in town:
Again, very nice indeed.

Ha! I appreciate the compliment, Spooky, but I'm afraid that's not me - I'm nowhere near that trendy, for one thing

Today's offering at my new favourite cafe:
I'm three from three on the lighter/fruitier front - definitely the direction in which my preferences are evolving.

I have just had a lovely decaf v60 now it's after 7:30 pm.
For peak coffee wankery.
Might have another later too. Decaf in the evening is win-win. 😀

A word of warning to any aspiring CWs:
I decided to go for it and order a Porlex Mini 2 from Amazon.
What turned up is most definitely not genuine; it’s a cheap Chinese knock-off of very dubious quality.
I am currently in negotiations with the vendor regarding a full refund (they’re trying to wriggle out of it, stating that it’s just as good) and have meanwhile ordered the Hario instead, which is coming directly from Amazon, apparently, which gives me a little more confidence.
“Porlex” vendor name is “Mat Nina”. Beware.

EMarkMSorry to hear that, dude. Don't take any shit from the seller where your refund is concerned - they can't wriggle out of anything, per Amazon's own terms and conditions, and you have the A-Z Guarantee as a backup if they refuse to play ball.

I've always been very happy with everything I've had from Artisan. I went to one of their cafes before my N1 Japanese exam and got a result in the top 1% so I assume they had something to do with that. Their packaging on their high grade Cup of Excellence beans is really nice too, makes it feel really special.

I'm looking to pare back my collection of coffee brewing equipment, with the goal being to keep the AeroPress for everyday use, and attempting to resurrect an ancient Gaggia for occasional espresso-making.
Anyway, the first item on the chopping block is a three-cup Bialetti moka pot, used but in great shape - before I put it on eBay, would anyone here like it? I'm more than happy to offer FG mates' rates, if so!

Full refund on its way to me, apparently, and a friendly “keep the item anyway” message from the vendor.
So, fair play to them, as long as it does go through.
Hario Mini should be delivered today!
I’ll probably use the fake one as a pepper mill.

EMarkM Glad to hear it! Hopefully you'll get an email confirming the refund from Amazon sometime today. I was going to suggest that you could get them to exchange the fake grinder for one of their other products,* if the worst came to the worst
* Warning: NSFW (unless you happen to work for Ann Summers, in which case you're probably fine).

Oh. My. Goodness. Despite ALL the great advice you lot have given me, I once again did not appreciate the difference one small change can make. I know it’s only the basic Hario, but this evening’s home-ground Taylor’s Lazy Sunday has just knocked every previous cup of coffee out of the park. I’ve still got a couple of weeks’ worth of pre-ground Some-Supermarket “Finest” left to use, but I’m going to have to alternate and force it down

Excellent.

I’ve had that one and it is very nice.
I tried that bouton whiskey barrel aged one from dark woods and it’s not for me. Glad I’ve tried it but it’s just not the taste or smell I want from my coffee.

Im absolutely slumming it at the moment. I popped into Lidl last week for a few bits and in the deals corner they were doing a 1.2kg of 'espresso' beans for 7 quid and you know what? They arent half bad.

A quick bump for this, as it's still very much available!
I'm also looking to shift a 600ml Hario Mizudashi cold brewer, plus a two-cup clear plastic Hario V60.

To be honest, I don't think it's worth all that much - especially as I no longer have its original box - so if I can figure out a way of packaging it securely, I'd be happy to let it go to a fellow Font Geek for the cost of shipping.

Mrs. Nick: What the hell's this? Didn't I say you had enough coffee stuff already?
Nick: But it was free!
Mrs. Nick: Literally?
Nick: Yeah. Well, almost - I bunged the guy a few quid to cover postage.
Mrs. Nick: Fair enough, I suppose! Hang on - d'you mean one of the weirdos from that Font Geek place now has our address?
Nick: ... I'm sleeping on the couch tonight, aren't I?

They don't realise what a (mostly) nice, trustworthy bunch we are.
I have posted stuff to other users in the past and, thus far, still have all my own organs...
