eBay is a lot of fun at the moment, scalpers trying to get thousands for a Pro bundle, one I saw was asking £9999 for one, which is deranged.
Not quite as mental but still stupid is someone charging £160 for an Anniversary DualSense while they're still in stock on PlayStation Direct.
Thought about getting the controller and ended up not bothering, I really don't need another one. It would look nice though.

I didn't need this slim, but here we are. I think once I've sold my OG PS5 with two controllers, it shouldn't hurt too much. I did contemplate the Pro, but I honestly don't care about the gains. I'm hoping this slim has zero coil whine, unlike my current PS5..

.. The Pro is an upgrade but for most people it probably wouldn't be worth upgrading, so just like the PS4 Pro in that respect. It's not like you're going from a potential jet engine to something nice and quiet as a bonus feature. If I had the spare money I'd probably buy one but I don't think in 2024 there's a lot of reason but that could change. ... I'm in the same boat. I don't need one, but you never know, I do get tempted by shiny new gaming kit. If a must have title launches with a noticeably better experience on the pro (thinking GTA) I could be swayed - but with the same CPU I think that unlikely. I think a big difference this time is cost. When the Pro launched, it came out at the same price as the original which itself got a price cut. So if you were choosing to jump in at that point, it was very tempting - if you already had a PS4, with a trade in it wasn't a major investment. I didn't bother myself, as thought I would wait for the 5 and was happy enough with my original 4, but I did get a Series X as I hadn't bought a One. That said, I totally understand why people would want one, and hope everyone trying manages to get an order in.

Yeah just got into the queue and after a minute I was in and yeah plenty of controllers. Is it just greedy scalpers being greedy scalpers again? I was looking at the controllers but I have 2 and as nice as it looks I can spend 70 quid on something more worthwhile.

I luckily haven't experienced any stick drift yet, my first controller has an absolutely borked touchpad but seeing as most games hardly use it I've been OK. I just use the newer, sexier black pad as my main.

I had one where the trigger spring died. No noticeable stick drift on any others as yet.

If you wedge the paperclip into the graphics chip, it runs Bloodborne at 60fps.

Anyone want to swap a 30th Anniversary dualsense for the Astro Bot one?? Damn my impatience. Just wait until the 10th October. That's the date when other retailers can put up pre orders apparently. I had a controller in my basket but unfortunately it went out of stock as I punched in my password to (I guess) authorise the payment/pre order.

So it all went up at 10am here - just regular tech and gaming stores as Sony Direct isn't a thing.
Pro consoles sold out. 30th Anniversary consoles (both Slim and Pro) were in such short supply that the purchases were raffled. 30th Anniversary Portal sold out. 30th Anniversary DualSense Edge sold out. 30th Anniversary DualSense are the only things still available. Half tempted to grab one.
I knew they'd be popular but I didn't think the controllers would be hard get.

I'm sure it will be sold out in minutes, but kind of hoping people give Sony the finger for it. They need a bit of a wake up call this generation, as it is feeling like they are taking their audience for granted (and Microsoft aren't doing anything to make them think otherwise). Aged well!

Scalpers often flip to themselves at inflated prices to set an anchor range for genuine buyers, e.g. someone might now think £3k is a good deal.

Yeah, plus with the £9999 price mentioned above they're usually open to offers. Someone might see that and think that's taking the piss, but they might try a cheeky lowball offer, which the seller will reject until they get the buyer up to what they actually expected to sell it for.
Or they get very lucky and someone is mental enough to hit buy now.

Doesn’t seem like much, looking around local marketplaces. There’s one 30th Anniversary Slim up but nothing else.
