Bloody hell Nano and Jeepers. Your wives are absolutely amazing. I can't even begin to comprehend what you are all going through. Thinking of you all.

Lot to catch up on in the thread (which is unfortunate, given the subject matter)... My best wishes to jeepers and Nanocrystal, may your wives make it out of this as quickly and painlessly as possible. mikeck, it's a difficult time but all the more reason to stand by each other and take care of yourselves as much as you can. Much love to you and yours. And belated condolences to rhaegyr, as well. FCUTA

Bit of an update on Mrs Nano. She's now been through three surgeries, the latest a mastectomy which was needed as they found more cancer clusters in her left breast. The surgeon told us this and the procedure was done the following morning, just like that. Also, as if that wasn't enough it turns out she likely has kidney cancer too, seemingly an entirely separate primary cancer. The doctor described her as "an interesting and unusual case". They don't sound too worried about the kidney and have said it's fine to wait until the breast cancer is fully dealt with. So she starts a 6 month round of chemo in a couple of weeks, the full nuclear option. Fun times ahead! Poor thing is really being put through the full gamut. She's still staying remarkably positive somehow, making jokes about having one boob, etc. Funnily enough after the mastectomy people started commiserating me. Surreal stuff. It's all still moving so fast that neither of us have much time to process. Probably a good thing to be honest, we're just doing what we've got to do. jeepers Hope your misses is travelling well and that you are coping ok. Blimey, it’s a ton to go through. Sounds like they’ve caught the kidney cancer early if they’re not unduly worried, so that can be easily tackled with a full or partial nephrectomy. My wife had the full but it was too late as it turned out it was an indolent one that had been growing for over ten years. Kidney cancers can be hard to identify so it’s hopefully a blessing it’s been found now. You just get carried along by it all in your own little bubble, don’t you? Best wishes and virtual hugs to both of you!

Thanks for your best wishes Nanocrystal I’m sorry to hear about your news and wishing you and your wife all the best. Like you, I’ve been amazed at how my wife is coping - it does seem that we both have partners who are the braver, not just the better halves. My wife had her surgery on Monday so is recovering from that. The medical staff were great, especially the anaesthetist who showed great kindness. We’re back in the waiting game after they biopsied the lymph nodes - we hope a precautionary measure. I hope you’re managing to take care of yourself as well as you are your wife and that you both have support from friends and family. Take the best care and sending you bothh best wishes. The waiting for results is horrible. Hope everything’s ok with the lymph nodes. It always amazed me how resilient, strong and determined my wife was through it all, it was me it turned into a gibbering wreck…the ‘carer’ role can be very tough at times 🤣
