The last line to ‘we are the champions’ is not ‘of the world….’

I learnt that the word Arctic (as in the polar region) comes from the Greek work for bear (arktos) and that is why it is named the Arctic - because it has polar bears. The Antarctic is so called because it is the anti or opposite of bears so no bears at the Antarctica. This just reminded me of the Apprentice candidate that made a game called "Artic Quest". [sic] It had penguins in it, obviously.

Arctic and Antarctic mean North/South (the North Star, or Bear Constellation), nothing to do with the inhabitants.

Maybe they named the bear constellation after the bears that the Greeks saw on their polar expeditions?

I’m not… proper Mandela effect I had to actually play it to verify, but by God he’s right. Freddie just cuts off after “We are the Champions” the last time around.

Hey folks, Greek guy here to report that the only etymology I could find for the Ancient Greek word for bears (árktos/άρκτος) is a very similar word with the same meaning, from the even more ancient (to the point of it only being a hypothetical reconstruction ) Proto-Indo-European language... As for why it also means "north" (thus, the Arctic and Antarctica), it's because the constellation we named after the bear (Ursa Major, or Μεγάλη Άρκτος/Big Bear) is in the northern part of the sky, towards where the Arctic is (the "Arctic" is just "the land under the constellation of the bear"). Bottom line, we kinda BSed everyone on this one, but we were cool like that so no one minded

Yeah, think I've heard before that the reason everyone thinks it ends with "of the world" is because they are remembering this version.

Tides don’t go in and out.
The moon pulls the earth’s oceans out from being a perfect circle and the earth rotates around *through* those high and low points daily.

Though the moon is also moving relative to the earth so the points are also moving about.

Also, weirdly, the water bulges towards the moon as you'd expect due to the gravitational attraction, but it also bulges away from the moon on the Earth's opposite side. Hence two tide cycles per day.

That's because of the anti-moon on the other side.

This is all a bit far fetched. It's obviously due to the flat earth tipping back and forth like a seesaw.
