They're great for getting the taste of cheap tequila out of your mouth, but apart from that I've never bitten into one willingly (lemon slices too...)

"Today years old" is illogical. I always get a slight brain hemorrhage when reading that. Day and year are two different units. Have you been "4 September years old" when you found out that I'm a pedant?

That Paul Walker was in more of the Fast and Furious movies than just the first two.
I thought he had passed away before any of the rest were filmed/released.

Today I learnt that the weird knocking noise we've been hearing from our fridge for the last few weeks was in fact an ickle glass bottle on the top shelf knocking against the inside of the fridge.

Just to reassure everyone I'm not as thick as that makes me sound - The Dandy Warhols were out when I was in school. I bought their album with that song they did, you know the one, and didn't really rate it and never made the association with the pop artist at the time and then spent the next twenty years of my life not thinking about them. Then yesterday the song came on whilst I was driving and because the previous week I'd mentally noted that Andy Warhol is always the answer in quizzes when the question is about a pop artist, my mind finally made the connection. Then this thread popped up and I thought, 'hey, what better place to share my slightly ditzy revelation than in the warm, welcoming, non judgmental environment of my favourite forum full of lovely people'.
And then EMarkM done called me stooopid.

The horrible irony is my lungs are pretty fucked after about five operations on them so I do kind of have to think about how to breathe properly.

...that the T-800 from Terminator 1 appears to run on a 6502 CPU, the same 8-bit chip that "powered" the NES--and Futurama's Bender. Given the T-800's performance, I imagine the chip is perilously overclocked. Last week I learned that in the same film, an HK Aerial from 2029 is running COBOL code (a business-oriented programming language from 1959) and on its hunt it's calculating the sum of all numbers between 1 and 1000. In both cases, the use of uncompiled code makes we wonder if these machines are running interpreters, which would make their performance even more impressive. Probably half their mass is some ultra future tech cooling system to keep the chips from melting.

I don't need to think to breathe. I have a machine that does it for me when I sleep! Look at all you losers without sleep apnoea having to remember to breathe while sleeping

The 6502 was also inside the C64. As that was capable of running Little Computer People which simulated multiple AIs concurrently, it should be up to the task of sustaining a single cyborg.
COBOL is still used today in industry, especially financial businesses, because it natively supports exact precision in decimal calculations which lots of other languages by default produce rounding errors as they use floating point maths. So if that thing needed to do some counting, COBOL was a rational choice.
