In 1942 in WW2 the Allies (mainly Americans) fought France to land on North Africa when French controlled North Africa was effectively under the German fist, around 1100 Allied deaths and 1300 French. I had no idea.

Except the other way isn't incorrect (I personally prefer it, as we normally pronounce both): When a first or second name ends in -s, we can either add ’ or ’s. It is more common to use ’ than ’s.
