So, my cousin just took his own life. There was an allegation made against him at work, the police got involved, and the next day he was dead. Left behind a wife and two teenage kids.
I'm not sure how to process it tbh. I saw him a couple of months ago, he looked like he had everything sorted out. And now he's gone, just like that.
I don't know why I'm sharing this here, I think I'm a bit in shock and need to put my thoughts down somewhere. Apologies if it triggers a bad reaction in anyone.

I'm just now reading about some of the allegations, because his face and name have been plastered around the news and social media. Are the claims legit? I don't know, they don't square with anything I knew about him.
But normally I'd see a story about this sort of thing, think "hey fuck that guy", and move on with my day. Will I be able to go back to that kind of reaction again? Is it hypocritical for me to think "I wish the media could get some sense of perspective", just because I was close to someone who got convinced that there was no way back from this kind of thing?
Probably. But I can't help it, I'm just thinking of his family now.
