Well I think the consensus is that he's very much immersed himself in his own echo chamber of information thus distorting any real proper constructive criticism of how to do things. I guess we'll see how it plays out and how far he's willing to go.

Not going as well for Putin as he hoped, not sure that's great though as fuck knows what an embarrassed Putin might resort to.

Let's hope his bad days will continue, and that mother Russia spawns another Arkhipov.

If only Putin came to Fontgeek and got the true unvarnished, honest, telling it like it is, truth.

I'm normally a really optimistic person but the whole situation really scares the shit out of me. The worse it goes for Putin will push him into a corner and he will react even worse.

Exactly. This is starting to look like a last throw of the dice to put things in his favour and it's massively backfired. Lets hope so. My worry is China and whether they decide put a firmer foot in Russia's camp.

I wonder if there'll be a point where his Generals start giving each other "a look" when he's talking during private meetings.

My worry is China and whether they decide put a firmer foot in Russia's camp. Â My worry is no matter what happens, Russia will be very isolated from the West now, and they are driven into a close partnership with China. An alliance of Russia, China and N Korea is disturbing. Their combined militaries are huge and Russia can sell all their gas and whatever else to China, who will take it all. China traditionally don't like to use their army outside their borders (other than Tibet). They could use the Russian giant to strong arm other nations where necessary. There are elements in Russia that might even relish that arrangement.

You have to imagine that Russia will win via numbers eventually but their forces must have an element of wondering what the fuck they are doing. The Ukrainians are fighting for everything they have managed to build since getting their independence and the Russians are doing it because they have been told to by their leader who is sat doing fuck all. They probably have Ukrainian friends and possibly even family and here they are invading as they have been told to.

Quite a lot of correspondents seem to quote tweet this guy, so I am assuming he is legit:
CHINA FOREIGN MINISTRY ISSUES STATEMENT ON UKRAINE CRISIS *CHINA SAYS UKRAINE'S TERRITORY, SOVEREIGNTY SHOULD BE RESPECTED *CHINA URGES TALKS BETWEEN RUSSIA, UKRAINE AS SOON AS FEASIBLE *CHINA CALLS FOR DIPLOMATIC RESOLUTION TO UKRAINE CRISIS

China and Russia might share some political ideals but I think there's only room for one type of communism and one boss man.
Winnies anti-corruption campaign wouldn't go down to well with the super wealthy Russkies.

Oligarchs wonât want to buy mansions in Shenzhen though You'd be surprised. China is pretty cushty these days apparently. Anyway their choice will be limited and they likely won't be as wealthy as before.

I imagine Putin to have "It's beginning to look a lot like nuke this" playing over and over in his head at the minute.

They managed to get Boris to speak in both Ukrainian and Russian. That must of been a undertaking. I'm sure they like a good Boris sounding name.

Winnies anti-corruption campaign wouldn't go down to well with the super wealthy Russkies. They wouldn't be joined at the hip. China has many partnerships and investments in other countries. It might be a "special relationship", like what we have with the US.

Or it could be that China just ignores international resolutions to sanction Russia and just openly trade with them right in our faces. For which Putin is so grateful he'll rattle his sabres and make his presence felt at China's request. I mean, they're cosy with North Korea so I don't think they'll give a fuck what Putin gets up to, as long as they can control him or at least don't feel threatened by him.

I can definitely see China, the world's businessman, alienating the US and world's largest trading bloc to get that sweet Russian gas.

I think China and Russia are also fairly suspicious of each other. I am not sure it helps China to ally with them so much. World dominance is not what drives China, except for Taiwan. The number one target is avoidance of civil unrest at home, nothing else.
Also, I expect Russians to just flow to the cesspool that is Dubai and similar places being built in the region.

Point, but I guess it depends on whether the US or even the EU decides to stop trading with China over this. We're all very hooked on Chinese cheap manufacturing and investment. Who says we'll stop? We've already turned a blind eye to blatant patent theft, horrific conditions in sweat shops where they make even luxury products like iPhones, silencing and disappearing of political dissidents in Hong Kong and elsewhere, aggressive expansion into the South China Sea, partnership and trading with N Korea (literally the most horrific place on earth right now), whatever the fuck it is they're doing to the Uighur Muslims in those city sized concentration camps, it goes on and on. Heck, Hollywood films even censor themselves to make them palatable to the Chinese market, like when John Cena or whoever it was apologised to them. You really willing to bet we shut the door on China over this?
