China do want world dominance but they’re doing it by buying up all the other countries, especially those in Africa.
War isn’t particularly high on their list when they can rape the natural resources from countries and those countries still love them because they help their infrastructure and investments.
They’re like the British empire but without the misplaced arrogance of the latter years.

Imagine the British Empire with the surveillance and mass data collection facilities modern day China has. We’d all still be swearing fealty to the pedo protector family.

Hopefully if enough people start to tell Russian troops that they're being lied to like that ^ they may eventually start to listen. Fair play to that lady, I feel like you could tell the Russian soldier wasn't a bad person tho

Kyiv falling seems inevitable at this point, whilst we all just watch it happen. Shameful

Ukraine don’t look like they’d need that much help to stop the troops which makes it e even safer for them. They’re taking on the 4th largest military in the world on their own and doing far better than they should.
The rest of the world? Stopping Russia advertising on Facebook and blocking some banks.
I know escalation is the concern but the politicians should still be ashamed of themselves.

I don't really know what the solution is, but what we are doing clearly isn't good enough.

The long term goal is to make as much a pariah out of Putin as possible right, no one expects Ukraine to emerge victorious but the longer this drags on the worse the Putin regime looks - to the world and at home

I understand the reticence to send troops in but we should be arming Ukraine to the max while making Putin an utter pariah.

US are pushing an aid bill through congress, France are sending arms right now. Might all be a bit too late, I dunno how you’d even get the arms to Kyiv. The west have spent the last 8 years arming and training Ukraine, that’s more valuable than anything we can do now

I think the fact that many of the solutions seem so toothless, is because the actual question of what to do is not easy. Diplomacy is fucking hard.
So to me it seems a bit weird to say "you politicians should be ASHAMED, we're not DOING enough, we need to do SOMETHING" when you literally have no suggestion as to what they should be doing instead, or what they might be doing without feeling the need to broadcast it all across the headlines. I don't think there's much appetite in our countries for military intervention, because... you know... Iraq. Afghanistan. We armed the resistance in Afghanistan, look how that turned out!
If it helps, we're also doing nothing to resolve at least half a dozen horrific conflicts around the world, ones that don't have much to do with Russia.

Boris said we were sending stuff days ago, none of it has gone yet.
It’s all going to be too late. This should have been done quietly weeks ago, now it’s leaders looking like they’re doing something when they aren’t.

Some conflict around the world is not comparable with this. Things needed to be done years ago about this, it’s too late now.
Implying leaders can’t be criticised because we can’t solve it is a ridiculous content. Diplomacy is hard, and look at who we have had over the last few years doing that.

What can you give them when European defence budgets and kit has been gutted for over 10 years now. The reason Germany didn't send any arms was due to them not having any anti-tank equipment in storage. It's a sorry situation with no easy solution outside of diplomacy.

Of course you can criticise them, everyone makes mistakes. But what do you do if literally every option on the table is a shit sandwich in some way? Because that's what diplomacy often is, and the people who say otherwise are deluded. Sorry, but to me the DO SOMETHING attitude usually means "hey we're all out of ideas, let's just go to war". And I'm extremely wary about that.

Ukraine are reporting they killed 3500 Russian soldiers,14 aircraft, eight helicopters, and 102 tanks so far.
I have no idea how they work these numbers out but if true they are quite significant numbers, although Russia has about 13000 tanks which is an insane number. To put it into perspective, we have less than 250.

3500 is a crazy number of losses when the combined Coalition losses in Afghanistan over 20 years are roughly that

Majority of their armour are still from the 70s/80s. Quite a few social media posts floating around of them running out of fuel/supplies. One Ukraine fella pulled his car over asking if they needed towing back to Russia.
