A happy accident of the Korean shenanigans could be a turning point for Bluesky and for one Verge editor channelling Hunter S. Thompson without the drugs but with alcohol instead. bsky.app/profile/sarahjeong.bsky.social

I'd say it's the dumbest move by a leader in recent history but well, there's a lot of competition.
Military saying they're keeping martial law intact until lifted by the President. Soooo....

It all feels a little bit 1930’s Dark Valley.

All over, nothing to see here.
Spare a thought for people in South Korea who went to bed before midnight and will be waking up about now and going WTF!”

Imagine being able to tell people you slept through a coup attempt
"We only hire exceptionally mentally strong people, what do you think would make you a good fit?"
"I am so glad you asked"

For some reason it seems like less of a coup and more of a "clever" political manoeuvre that got out of hand. Like proroguing Parliament. As the military and his own party all seemed baffled by it.
South Korea only became a democracy in the 80s though it was a dictatorship before that. It's been a democracy less than some board members have been alive so it's sort of comforting the institutions worked properly.
