Yeah, we've never indiscriminately bombed civilian populations.

Its not indiscriminate if you're actually aiming for them.

True. "Acceptable collateral damage" and all that.

So the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon had a Hezbollah pager. Fancy that. Has anyone heard from Corbyn?
Actually he would see an pager as "new fangled technology" and use old fashioned telegrams

It's probably a bit crass or whatever, but I'm really impressed by the level of planning and execution (no pun intended) of the whole thing. It feels very Splinter Cell (no pun intended).

There's a video doing the rounds of one going off when a guy's holding it in his left hand. But he's alright now. Fucking hell man 😅

Maybe (the crass thing), but agreed, it's an incredibly impressive operation. The logistics to provide and tamper with that many devices, using micro explosives which would have required clean factory conditions to implant and the distribution and activation is unbelievable. Not just because of the explosions and injuries and psychological damage and damage to their communications and network, but because of the operational intel they will have received on thousands of Hezbollah operatives. Where there were, who they were with or near, hospital records, and on and on and on. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they start their expected push into Southern Lebanon very shortly, whilst Hezbollah are in disarray.

Looks more like a nuke going off than the Trinity test did in Oppenheimer, then again any ammo dump blowing during this war looks more like a nuke than it did in the film.
NASA helpfully pointing out what's on fire through their satellite monitoring system.

Al Qeada will be interested to find out this kind of thing is no longer counted as terrorism.

I imagine the screeching social media outrage is being prepared as we type.

Are you suggesting that this isn't outrageous?

Are you suggesting that this isn't outrageous? No, quite the opposite. It's absolutely mind boggling.

Me, I suspect.
I am not outraged, no. Sorry if that was not entirely obvious.

That wasn't what I asked. Do you not find this worthy of outrage from anyone?
I mean, I know the answer from your glib comment but is it really that weird for people to be outraged about nation state terrorism? They have killed or wounded hundreds of non-combatants including children.

People can feel however they like. And they can certainly make it their entire personality on the internet, which was what I was referring to.
I personally don't believe that's of any value to anything, but it's up to them.

Using large scale coordinated explosions to kill or injure indiscriminately and spread fear and doubt among the population; this is the definition of terrorism. No condemnation from any western country, of course. I mean they could condemn attacks on civilians and deny Israel was involved, if they want to stay in Netanyahu's good books. But there seems to be an acceptance across the board and that Israel is responsible and that's just that.

thats a good point.
The only people to get anything out of these attacks is Iran, as they want more violence in the region and things to escalate.

Its got to the 'my tax is contributing to this and its unconscionable stage', if it wasn't already. It's the actions of a leader who is fucked in the head.

Is this some sort of fuck up by Mossad, assuming it's them as it doesn't seem likely for anyone else? Indiscriminately blowing up technology seems like a real waste of the effort put in rather than targeting things surgically at individuals.
It's terrorism though and certainly criminal.

The thought on the news was that the plan had become compromised in some way. So they were in a “use it or lose it” situation.

I think the plan is to make people paranoid about any device that has a battery in it. Imagine not being 100% sure about whatever device you’re looking at right now.
