I think Belarusian troops have already been in haven’t they? If so the precedent for open use of foreign troops has already been met by Russia. Not to mention all the Wagner thugs.
Think it’s an absolutely open secret that NATO has had ‘advisors’ embedded over there since about day two.

UKSF were in Ukraine for years before the SMO, I doubt they ever left just get rotated, while they're probably not engaging directly (unlike Soviet "advisers" like pilots during the Vietnam War) they're still helping in other ways.

Not only the Vietnam War but the Korean War, before China fully invaded. They sent actual jet fighters and pilots to the Korean War (MiG Alley). Vietnam it was surface to air missiles, that they manned themselves. Then the US sent stinger missiles to the Mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Basically there's precedence for all of this during the Cold War, and any time a super power had to withdraw during one of these wars the other side was upto its ball sack in it. Turn's out Putin's just a fucking liar. Who'd have thought.

Someone should explain to the Greece government what productivity means.

The rest of Europe... that's pivoting to four-day work weeks, he means???
Good job us! The 41% of 50-something% of the voting public (last election results) is fucking over everyone else!

Fucking hell this is insane. So in reality it's going to mean a ton of shady employers forcing people to work 6 days under the threat of losing their job with no option to choose the length. It'll just be a straight 6 full days of work. Bloody hell.

As a response (they claim) to a shrinking working age population it's a bit funny when the rest of Europe is moving in the other direction. Would you like to work 48-hour weeks in Greece for shit pay or move to western/northern Europe and work 32-40 hours for twice the income?
I guess the rest of the EU should be thanking them for the work force we're about to be blessed with.

Hopefully makes gyros and tzatziki more popular in the UK if they do!

That's a ridiculous strategy, with freedom of movement. The very people you want to stay and work in your country will just up sticks, reduce the tax base and leave you in a bigger hole than before. Mental.

It also won't produce growth as it will harm loads of businesses as people won't have free time to spend money. You are less likely to go and do something if you have one day off as you are absolutely knackered. Combine that with people having the option to move countries and they are asking for trouble.

Projections seem like the French got their act together too and pushed National Rally back into third place.

The French left, centre-left and centre really need to address their complacency problem because they can’t keep relying on voters to be shocked into action in a second ballot every national election. One day the far-right will take it in one.
That said, a left-green alliance sounds good to me, in name value at least.

It's the dance the French have done for decades now. Le Pen's child/nephew/niece will carry on the mantle to keep the merry go round ticking along as it always has.

This would indeed be a glorious end to the week - two right-wing parties subjected to big losses, and perhaps a modicum of hope that the US may yet follow suit.

I guess the issue will be how do they make a government out of this with no one majority. You'd hope they'll be adults about it but, y'know, France.

I'm glad they didn't win, but I'm kinda worried that they're just brushing things under the carpet rather than actually addressing the core issues, and it's going to increase resentment and blow up in their face at some point.
If there's a significant proportion of the electorate who feel that their concerns are being ignored and they're being blocked from power, they're just going to get more angry.
That said, I have no idea how to actually address their concerns.

Its great Le Pen and her scum didn't get in but this coalition does not sound good overall, you have Communists (they side with Putin and CCP) and according to the BBC - hardcore anti-capitalists (not always Communists) and wide range of other people. I expect lot more Antisemitism in france
I hope it works out for France but its wide mix of people that may not get on
