Keep a hold of it as long as you can!
Didn't realise you'd put a vid up I'll watch it after work.

It's great. It's just constantly there!
Yeah, the audio isn't brilliant but if you can cast it onto some speakers it's OK.
We've got the go pro recordings now so after some editing, we'll sling those up too somewhere

Yeah it was rammed. Some people were watching and listening from outside the front of the pub window!

Cheers! Yeah, it was top fun once we got into it. I didn't fluff up that much either - just the odd fill that went random, but pretty much nailed the important beats. Luckily, that blue hairspray wasn't permanent too, which was a fucking bonus coming into work this morning

Aww I thought you'd gone blue permanently.
I'm just jealous you've still got a head of hair.

It's very thin now at the prime age of 49, but I'm still hanging on to it!
Band are already looking at the next gig location.
Probably going to be a local pub again, but we do happen to know the event organiser at Night and Day in Manchester, which would be a fucking amazing venue to play. We'll keep plugging away

Brilliant man I'm sure you'll get another one sorted soon so you've got something else to look forward to. Never heard of Night and Day so just looked it up. That would be quite an awesome venue to play it by the looks of things.

Yeah, want to keep the momentum going - there's definitely options - just need to check them out. Guitarist has played a few when he did his covers band, so we'll see what we can sort out. Yeah, Night and Day is a great place and have bands on all the time. If I go into Manchester for a few beers, I always make a point of visiting there (and often just end up staying there) as it's got great music vibes. Plus Piccadilly Records is directly opposite. What normally happens is I'll chill out with some beers and once the beer kicks in, I'll end up buying some records, and then go back to the pub and check them out. Over more beers. Everyone seems to do it. It's a prime spot

I was in Manchester a few years back, trying to think if I passed it or went in, but it doesn't ring a bell. That sounds a great spot though, especially with the record shop across the way.

That looks fantastic, which of your basses got a run out? Cheers, it was a top night. I used the jazz ultra in active mode throughout - we have spent a bit of time going through the different ones, and this jazz just sits really well in the mix alongside the synths et all. We're all pleasantly surprised about the mix levels too - there was no sound engineer and apart from the synths (because they're always a nightmare), we focused around the drum level and turned out pretty good. Even some guys in the crowd who play in bands mentioned that the mix was good, so chuffed with that. Last thing you want is when it's too loud or bright in everyone's face

Worth a visit if you go again. It's on Oldham street in the Northern Quarter. Oasis started their gigs there! It's great on a Saturday, mid afternoon, because you can always get a decent seat, it's got massive windows at the front so you can watch the world go by and the decor is cool as fuck too.

Played some music at the weekend for the first time since leaving my last band over three years ago. Bit rusty, but it turns out playing drums is like riding a bike. Been coerced into doing one last gig next month. I gave it up because my anxiety was getting too much for performing. My anxiety is now much worse than it was then, but it was fun playing again. I'm excited and shitting it in equal measure.

I think the next gig will be the same, but what I did last week was just ride it out, and then after a while, I was able to tap into all that extra energy which made playing even easier. It'll be grand, I'm sure. It's always about the fun when you get going!

Then once you've played that gig you can move up here and be my drummer.

I lasted about a year after that. It's two-piece blues rock, we got together in 2011. I am the one sitting at the back wearing obscure gaming t-shirts and looking a little bit pissed off. Where is up here anyway? I'm in Leeds.

ZomoniacThose videos and tunes are fucking brilliant man.I reckon your gig will be superb and I'm quite sure once you're up playing the adrenaline and sheer joy will overcome any anxiety. Inverness. Get up here. I'll pay for your train, but you can't leave. You'll get fed twice a day and allowed out for excercise.

Christ almighty, I'd love to put some bass on that Cyborg song

Me too. Funnily enough earlier today I was in touch with my mate and we've decided to sack off the drummer, but head into the studio next year and do a single and video with a session drummer instead. Gives us something to focus on.

Also, quad I know you've been busy with your band but did you ever get chance to get stuck into the sax? I had a few months off as lost the will to, well, do anything but I got stuck in over the last few weeks and I've now nailed the theme tune from Red Dwarf. Ambition = complete.

Nice one - I think that's the best thing to do - just do something instead of waiting for something to happen. If it's going to work, it'll work.
I need our synth player to sort out the videos from the gig ffs. Though it has only been 4 days I guess

Aww, thanks guys the album's on all the streaming places if you're so inclined. It's called Chains. Everything after that doesn't feature me. When I left he replaced me, but said replacement buggered off to Spain so he's stuck again. He's asked me to do one last gig as he's thinking about wrapping it all up anyway. There's no way I'd want to rejoin a gigging band full time. For seven years it was every Friday and Saturday given up to play for a handful of people and getting home exhausted in the early hours. It was so draining. Also I'm extremely uncomfortable talking to people. I know they're trying to be nice but when people would come up to me after a set to give compliments I just stood there really awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact. We did a bonus track not on the album. I never really liked the recording as the drums are way too low on the mix, but the accompanying montage shows that my entire wardrobe is just Insert Coin merchandise.

And it's funny you mention that, because I was pottering about at home the other day and I spotted it and wistfully looked at it for a minute, but had to focus back on the bass. I will go back to it at some point, but at the moment as you say, it's all the band stuff we've got to get on with. Though now I suppose I have some time to piss about, but I was going to piss about with synths as I do some intros on the songs and make them a bit more varied. Basically, I need to sack work off and do music full time. Imagine spending 9 hours a day doing music instead of fucking shitty work. What a colossal waste of time. Of which we're running out of!

Yes. I know. I have that very same comversation regularly. How nice it would be just to have the time to do this full time. There's just not enough fucking time god damn it. End of every fucking day I'm like "I didn't get enough done!!!".
Yeah I thought you'd be busy. I had a bit of a rough learning period with it but loads of stuff just seems to have clicked in place now. A couple of yers and I think I'll end up ditching the punk and metal and go into bluesy jazzy shit. I'm getting too old for punk, surely.
Til then though, fuck that. I'm back doing vox and bass for a new album in the meantime.
But yes. Not enough fucking time. Never enough fucking time.

Inverness. Get up here. I'll pay for your train, but you can't leave. You'll get fed twice a day and allowed out for excercise. I do actually want to move somewhere near that way. The furthest away from civilisation whilst still being within access of some stuff! If I ever make it I'll hit you up for a jam.

Fair play if it's too much work and not enough reward, I can understand that. Each to their own, but bloody hell man, you've got some fucking talent and it'd be a shame to just hang it all up. What else you going to do with your life? Saying about the Friday/Saturday thing, I do similar, but not on your level obviously. I've spent the last 2 and a half years on Friday in a studio and haven't been out on on a Friday for that long. But the thing is, I didn't even realise or notice that, until someone mentioned, "Do you not miss Friday nights out?", and I just stood there and thought for a minute, and said, "no, not really". Also, I think the moody look/appearance fits with it all anyway. Just because people want to talk, doesn't mean to say you do, or even have to. Bollocks to it all and do your own thing, I say.
