ZomoniacYou sound similar to me. I was shit at the whole speaking to people before and after gigs and could never handle it when people came up to me. In the bands where I was the singer in addition to bass and had to do the whole audience engagement / stage banter thing I was beyond pish. I would just mumble and try and get into the next song as quickly as possible.

Pretty good thanks wunty. We've got 10 or 11 songs fairly well rehearsed. I'm definitely still the weak link but improving. We just need our lead guitarist to return from long-term sick, as we're struggling a bit to fill in the gaps he's left - without him we're just 1 guitar, vocals, bass and drums, which of course can be plenty, but the songs were all designed around 2 guitars.
We've booked a rehearsal space for 5 hours this Saturday to try and really nail 2 or 3 songs, then we'll go for some food and drinks and a chat about what worked and what didn't - which usually only happens over whatsapp, which is always a bit tricky.
Fundamentally it's all good - never thought I'd have got this far when I first picked up the bass in April this year, so I can't complain!

Yeah, my right hand finger plucking has come on loads, just through sheer amount of repetition. I've stalled halfway through the BassBuzz course though as all I do is practise our songs, but hey. It's all good.

monkman5000 That's great to hear man, so happy it's working out well for you. It's amazing how quickly things can move sometimes and it sounds like you've really settled into this band as well. Any thoughts of booking gigs yet or is it still too early days? Aye as quad says your guitar will come back I haven't played a single thing for weeks but I'm sure it'll soon come back no problem. It goes like that. All your residual dexterity and muscle memory is never far below the surface.

I nagged them both last night. We're going to take out all of the audio and stitch it up, and then use the different camera footages to mix it all up a bit. Might even put some random images / designs in too, make it a bit of an adventure |

Yes, we had 2 - one up above the whole band, and then one placed to the side. Unfortunately, the woman donating them the go pros put the one on the side right in front of the PA speaker, so the sound is not much use as it just auto compresses when the waveform is too loud for it's mic, but the one up top is fine. So we'll have to just mix and match with what we've got.
They did work very well though, have to say. Would use them again for sure.
