It's the knobs all over again. I've got the fear.

Moving swiftly along, we've had one of our singles remixed into a 1985 synthwave version and it's now released on spotify, yay

Hah yeah, true. Sometimes we just have to take turns in the crowd area and guess!
At least we've got an engineer - plus there's a drum shell, so only need to take toms, cymbals etc. AND there's a bass amp that I can use too, yay
Lot less hassle, but probably will take longer because there are 3 bands in the mix all setting up and borrowing kit etc

Fucking hell, that was a really fucking good night!
Met the Estonian punk band who were filming the whole gig. They were great guys. Then the San Pedro guys turned up which was ace.
We went down well, and people from the home village turned up too. The Estonian group - Shelton San were fucking rock solid. Talking to them afterwards, they've been playing for 20 years! Main guitarist looks about 18 to me! And San Pedro were fucking brilliant. the stage was absolute chaos with 3 sets of kit all on stage but great fun. I am absolutely fucking knackered with a big shit eating grin on my face!
Bed.

Cheers! Yes, it was a full on night all round. Everyone had a good laugh. It was also good just chatting to band members throughout the night too. Made it kind of a collective between us all supporting each other. Was really cool.

That camaraderie that you get on a good gig night is second to none isn't it.

Absolutely. You feel part of a larger group overall. It's like 3 tribes coming together or something, all wanting to do exactly the same thing. It's amazing

Piano update
Managed to get a second hand yamaha P45 for 120 quid. Absolute bargain, it was on Facebook and I was convinced he was going to Rob me lol. But he just wanted it gone and all it needed is a wipe. Played it before I took it away and it's all good. So chuffed with that.
..... started some chords and appregios this evening. Some of my muscle memory kicked in from when I was a kid which is insane!

Yeah, the long term muscle memory for music is nuts.
My viola playing is still heavily held back by my brain jumping to violin notes from thirty-odd years ago!

Anyone used the apps for lessons etc? Quite pricey but don't mind paying as be cheaper than a real human.
Some brilliant YouTube videos but need some structure I reckon

I use Chordify when I want to learn the root notes of songs. Basically, you search for a song, it comes up, and it has a horizonal bar that moves along, showing you the notes - it can show piano, ukelele or guitar. I choose guitar if I'm doing bass (near as dammit), but if you choose piano, you'll see the chords pop by. It's surprisingly simple to get going, and it can get quite addictive. It's also free to try out before you pay (30 quid a year I think). I've had it enabled for some years now and it's still quite useful. Note, it's only really any use for learning songs it either has in it's database, or ones that it can "chordify" for you. It doesn't really teach music theory or anything like that. But it will teach you better hand to eye coordination and your timing. Also, if you can bear this woman's voice, you can learn some nice arpeggio's which is a good starter - m.youtube.com/watch?v=rmlI_7LgeHM

Ahh brilliant just seen there is a 50% off annual sub at moment so only 15 quid. For guitar does it do tabs? Or just the chords?
Seen pianote before, was looking at them for lessons. She is grating though haha

Even cheaper then. Plus, you can try it beforehand - I think for guitar, it shows the note in letters in the horizontal blocks, and also the chords underneath which don't move so you can always relate to them as the next note comes up. It does the same for whichever instrument you use. So you get the static chord pictures of the piano chords underneath that don't move anywhere, and as the horizontal progress bar moves, you'll see which chord is coming next.
You get a couple of free goes - have a crack and see what you think.
Haha, yeah, her voice is terrible, but her last exercise on arpeggio's is quite a good one - can easily butcher it and make you're own stuff with the structure she provides

That's awesome news on the piano front damageinc! Reminds me, I really need to get back into this saxophone of mine. I was doing well with it. Where does the fucking time go dammit.
Meantime, I've just finished my 4th track for my solo EP and my mate has just started firing over tracks for our next album together, one of which I nailed last night. This one may be our best yet. Hmmm. Beginning to see where the time is going.

Beginning to see where the time is going. You should tell Sandy Denny… (sorry) I use the Ultimate Guitar app for learning songs. It’s user submitted so sometimes they’re not always exactly right, but you can usually work out what you need to do and change. It does auto scrolling and adjustable pacing, plus you can transpose keys and so on. Dunno if it’s any use for piano though.

She is grating though haha The non web method may work for you too. Get a couple of beginner music books. Even if you already know the basics, it doesn't hurt to tread familiar ground.
Any decent tutors in your area? I'm now thinking of that for my sax as I can't be trusted to motivate myself once the initial buzz wears off.

Yeah, you need something to keep you going otherwise you can get distracted. For bass, Bassbuzz was invaluable for me, and now the band just keeps me going - I have to practice now as we all need to keep the momentum going.
But for keyboards at home, did similar to what you guys mentioned - bought loads of patch books, learnt how to use the complicated synths, read up etc, but if I want to go further, I'd need some kind of structure.
Though saying that, like Wunty says, where does the fucking time go
