Don’t know if the Timmy would be what you’re after, most people seem to like it as a sort of pre OD before going into another pedal. Should be fun whacking it in front of a blues driver or whatever. The Immerse should just be a cracking all round reverb pedal, wanted some videos where it added some lovely texture

I was thinking Wampler again. Previously had a Catalinbread DLS but I don't think it was as good as its hype suggested.

Cheers folks. It does seem like the most versatile option and a lot of bang for the buck.
It should be here Thursday. Bring on the noise.
I should probably strip and service one of those electrics. 😁

SD1 should get you headed there

Been resisting the temptation to buy a viola for the last few months. It’s going to happen, isn’t it? The excuse will be to help with the stepdaughter’s cello practice. Have you bought it yet? If it's any help, I've fallen deeply into the rabbit hole of moog synths now. Absolutely so much fun

quadfather The little ‘un’s cello teacher let me play her personal viola (ooer, etc.) just before the Xmas break, and she just said, “well, you’ve clearly got to get one now, haven’t you?” My first instrument was the violin, but I’ve wanted a viola for DECADES. Mrs. EMM is also insisting I invest.

You know, I would, but a) it has stereo outs and I onl6y have 1 input left on my interface, and b) you have to place it so that nothing is 3 feet near it and/or made of metal or it'll mess with the signal. Point a is easy enough I guess - just remove something else from the interface that I'm not using so much. But point b is a bit of a head scratcher with the room I've got. But the investigation isn't over yet

Good man, good man.
I KNOW you have the mental fortitude to overcome this minor technical issue!

Which one are you looking at getting? There’s a Conservatoir I’m interested in, but our local shop (where the nine year old has her cello lessons) also have a line of their own instruments, which can be customised and so on, so still in discussions!

Cool, sounds good. You'll have to post some pics when you get it. Fuck it. I think I know where I can put the theremin. On the right, just in front of the palm tree where that gap is between synths - photos.app.goo.gl/GxjQa8TCV8V8gpHJA

Now, the mistake you CONTINUALLY MAKE is to not give me that Jazz Bass, which would clearly free up some space.

Haha the red one? You can have it! It's a restoration project which I still haven't got round to doing.
I might leave the theremin for now, or just have a go in the shops because I've got enough to do as it is I reckon

I managed to actually get the tone I was after with existing stuff.
I have a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe and pushing it a bit harder and using the EQ on it, plus a Spark Mini boost in front basically got me close enough for rock and roll.
Squier CV Jazz arrived and I'm really pleased with it. In fact it's a bit astonishing for £320. I did get a '60s one earlier which I ended up selling which was not as nice - chiefly the laurel fretboard which neither looked nor felt nice. If you get one go maple.

Put some pedals up for sale on Facey last night. They've been sat in a cupboard and I have MOT/repairs and daughter's birthday coming up.
Wish I hadn't. Despite me explicitly typing 'cash on collection, buyer collects, I'm not considering postage at this time' have had two DMs and one comment asking for postage. One of these asks if I'll include postage in the price. Of £35. For a Soul Food.
One asks if I'll both post and 'do a deal' on two pedals. Both priced a tenner under current eBay sold prices. Which I've stated in the ad. I mean you could get these for the price of ONE or the pedals new and they are in great nick.
Strongly considering removing the ad and keeping the pedals.

Played some music at the weekend for the first time since leaving my last band over three years ago. Bit rusty, but it turns out playing drums is like riding a bike. Been coerced into doing one last gig next month. I gave it up because my anxiety was getting too much for performing. My anxiety is now much worse than it was then, but it was fun playing again. I'm excited and shitting it in equal measure. Never actually followed up, but I bailed on the gig. Was getting panicked just thinking about it and knew there was no way I could do it.

Its a shame but if you're not in the right place to do it, then you're not in the right place to do it.
Any plans for doing anything in the future? Or just seeing what happens?

No plans. Sold all my gear when I first quit. Doubt I’ll ever drum again. I did get some music theory books for Christmas though, so maybe it’s time to dust off the piano and finally learn how to play an actual instrument with notes and stuff.

Yeah why not give something else a go. When I want to do stuff that isn't bass I'll go to my synths/piano. See how it goes. As long as its fun, it's good

Zomoniac Get that piano going! Mrs. EMM has a lovely Yamaha (quiet, you!) electronic one, and I love fooling around on it. It’s very often at the very centre of all the guitar/bass/banjo/violin/cello/etc. stuff that’s going on

That's a lot of cash for something that is "for fun" though, especially considering my present to myself this year was a new guitar. Maybe next year. Absolutely the right and sensible thing to do. So, next year, then. The next official new year is Eastern Orthodox Church New Year which is in a couple of weeks or so I think. Good man.
