Glad to hear they've finally tweaked it a bit. Are there planty people still playing?
I have actually uninstalled it now. It was fun and almost exactly what I was hoping for, yet with the glifching and absurd difficulty later on, a lot of people will be off elsewhere I'd think.

Yeah, I've uninstalled it as well. It was fine to play through once, but I couldn't be arsed with it much after that.

Virtual box obvs, since i got it via game pass, which it was perfect for!

I'm still hooked. Completed it today on veteran. It's just so good and it really comes in to it's own when you've put some time in and have 16 pages of cards available to create your own type of build. I tried some left 4 dead 2 and l4d definitely has a better atmosphere and characters but pretty much everything else about b4b is better. The cards, the weapon attachments, the corruption cards, the various day times etc. I've no idea why so many people have dropped this. Easily my game of the year

Finally bloody finished the last part of Act 3, took a long time to find a team of randoms that worked well together to crack it.
Nailed Act 4 on the second attempt, so now I can finally replay on the next difficulty and earn more cards for the deck!
I can see me dipping into this every week for a session for a long time (especially when the DLC comes), but that final part of Act 3 nearly broke me.

It's nails but rewarding. Once you get used to it you'll find the previous difficulty so so easy. And yeah the end of act 3 is rough, especially if you get some bad cards. The more you play not only do you understand everything more but you'll have multiple decks to build that makes life easier. I've got 17 pages of cards to choose from now. Edit. Also the final level of act 3 is incredibly easy once you have enough speed cards to build from. It you have 6-8 speed cards active you can literally just run around the map destroying the nests and then just kill one orge. Just make sure you are evangelo or have a couple of stun guns as you might occasionally get grabbed. That or have the breakout card in your deck.

Good tips, thanks Bichii! Oh I have many tips . If on veteran you struggle at the final three missions of act two build a grenade character. You get a check point three levels before the end and all three levels have a boss. First an ogre level then an ogre and a breaker then finally two breakers. With a grenade character you can kill an orge in three grenades. Pick Hoffman and you can have 6 or 7 grenades per run and use the card that spawns more offensive items on the map and you'll breeze through those three maps.

The cards, the weapon attachments, the corruption cards, the various day times etc. I've no idea why so many people have dropped this. Easily my game of the year No way. I'll try an elaborate on why I dropped it. I'd been looking forward to this game since it was announced as me and a few mates still regularly play L4D/L4D2 but it just falls short in practically every area. - The AI Director isn't a patch on L4D. There's no real ebb and flow to the combat, quiet periods just feel like downtime between the next 'wave' whereas L4D feels much more fluid. Enemies run straight at you. - 'Unique' zombies aren't that unique and are spammed at a silly rate. I'd never get 3 Hunters at the same time on L4D but I've had 4-5 Tallboys at once on this. - No musical cues. This was such an ace system in L4D, such as alerting you to hordes or the dreaded Tank. Really ramped up the tension. - L4D nailed the bad b-movie vibe with a great selection of characters and humour whereas this can't decide whether to be dark and gritty or more whimsical. Characters are practically non-existent. - Gunplay feels like a Killing Floor game. - AI of everything is fairly bad, especially your teammates. Fair play if you like the card system/upgradeable weapons but 'gearscore' in a game like this is a disappointment for me, especially when the original didn't need it (and was a much better game for it). Sorry for the rant but it's probably the most disappointing game I've played in the last few years. It's nowhere near 'bad', it's actually average to good most of the time but compared to L4D and its' legacy it falls short.

only agree with the b movie vibe and the music cues. Both were excellent. The a.i. is a bit dodgy but also very easily manipulated when you know how and they can be much better than random players on the higher difficulties. The card systems (both your deck and corruptions), gun rarities and attachments just make it something that provides much need variety that l4d2 didn't have. The specials at first are too samey and should have been better designed to be clearer but after X amount of hours you learn which is which properly and the sound cues are all obvious (again the cues should have been clearer though for new players)

In all honesty I need to give it a bit more time - I've only done one runthrough of the whole campaign and from what I understand the card system only becomes more integral on repeated playthroughs and higher difficulties.
I blame Gamepass!

I blame Gamepass! Yeah the basic difficulty it's a different beast. It's a proper hard game on the next two with more variety in what corruption cards you get, there's different triggers and events on hard and you really need a tonne of cards to complete it. I've got a medic build, speed build, tank melee, glass cannon etc. You can really create unique feeling characters and also need to think about which character to pick depending on the teams composition.

Dlc is good. Even better though are the recent patches. Loads of quality of life improvements in the UI, gameplay, HUD, a.i. and other little tweaks.
Seven "dungeons" added, two new characters, five weapons, 4 enemies and maybe 15 cards.
The dungeons are all a lot of fun and add some unique challenges not in the main game levels and also have corruption chests that sometimes hold legendary guns but also add trauma damage to the the team. Also hold skull totems that unlock the new skins and cards etc. Very risk reward based.

I got this in the recent humble bundle. It seem overly complicated. I just wanted to shoot stuff and instead got a unintelligable pitch on building a deck of cards that I don't want to give a shit about.

Luckily my son and three of my friends play this as I tried for about an hour today joining quick play on hard and it's still a total cluster fuck.
I'm amazed how bad most players seem. If you don't know what you are doing don't try and play it on hard. Just constantly scaring birds, opening alarmed doors etc. Even on normal if you keep triggering hordes it is hard.
In a group who know how to play it hard is mostly pretty straightforward.
Nightmare is still a nightmare and I'm definitely not going to even attempt no hope difficulty.
