Who knows . I've heard their names shouted many times by the characters but I'm still just making up their names..

Not at all. It just reminds me how utterly terrible I am at remembering names of anything. I'm so bad. I do however know exactly which enemy it is when I hear the sound or see them in the distance, just give them randoms names because my stupid brain can't remember.

Yeah that's the original point. It's not just you. It was common feedback from beta tests. They are not memorable enough. 

I'm sure given enough hours in the game it is easy to see what they do and when they have spawned. It's just that L4D was better at this. And pretty much everything else.

Had a go on PC last night, full of idiot kids screaming like fucking banshees as is usual with crossplay to Xbox. Turned that off and had a blast although it took ages to get a game. The Motorhead level is ace.

Yup we are loving this. Got up to act 3 I think. Much co-op fun. The cards are starting to make sense and really help.

Yeah the one time my team wiped it was mostly due to lack of stamina so now I try and stack stamina cards. It runs out really quickly when you need to run at all.

I took ages earlier too.

Did the level with the pub and jukebox when i finally connected. Didn't get Holly as a character due to the host having chosen them. They then bailed as soon as the match started. Not happy that i couldn't change character after they quit, but i guess it saves arguments in teams. Blasted through the three shortish levels of that section.

Loved hearing Ace of Spades while blasting zombs as 'Mom' at the end before making our escape.

Vortex I had Black Betty by Ram Jam and it was maybe the best 10 minutes of gaming I've had this year.

I just quit a game halfway though. This game is really pointless with a team full of randoms unless you luck into a good squad. Even on recruit difficulty with teammates that aren't talking I just found it really frustrating.

Had a team and 2 of them seemed determined to just speed off and constantly needed rescuing from special ridden or falling off of edges and seemed to either stupidly or deliberately set off every single flock of crows we went by. 1 was basically always on low health and even though I'd call out health stations they'd ignore them instead opting to need requiring to be saved every few minutes. We'd get to a safe room and rather than heal, they'd run out right away and get incapacitated.

I can tell with a group of friends or just people actually using mics, this would be a really fun game. I don't know how much I'll play it with matchmade groups though. Even L4D players seemed to have a grasp as to what the game was about.

A game like this can live or die on the players you encounter and for a first game they really ruined the experience.

Played the first two parts of act 1 last night and tonight. Good fun, playing with one mate and two randos. Luckily everyone was friendly and chatting in a helpful way. We stuck together and tried to coordinate, it mostly worked. Feels easy when it clicks but a 'mare when it doesn't. You quickly get overwhelmed if you stand around. The pub set piece was superb, I thought, we didn't make it out but we were laughing the whole way through, which is what I'll remember.

Tried again later tonight. Mixed bag tbh. The game is great, but teammate reliant.

Definitely need a crowd. I couldn't get a game on the levels i needed at all until hitting quick play. Which is ok, but I have been bounced around act I and now need to backfill some levels which may be tricky.

Or keep quick-playing until i get them eventually. Great atmosphere, definitely vest to keep moving and not hang around.

Really enjoyed what I've played so far, mostly. I'm an l4d vet, wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to how many thousand hours I put into those games with my pals back in the day. This has huge potential to be great if they fix a few things. Difficulty is a bit off. Campaign versus should be a priority for them to get done. Controls could use a bit of work. And I wish you could switch your torch on when you want! Also it misses things like the Witch. She provided superb strategic "how the fuck do we get round this problem" kinda moments. At which point someone would say "I think I've figured out the shotgun trick" then promptly get ripped apart.

I don't even utterly hate the card stuff, which I was sure I would.

I had my first special team mate as we only had three of us in a party. They were exceptional at shooting the screamer thing you aren't meant to shoot as it calls a horde. Or running off ahead and getting captured .

I've now got six pages of cards and have a lovely balanced deck with lots of team boosts.
