Very late to the party but have just finished season 1 of Only Murders in the Building, thoroughly enjoyed that it was very, very good. Steve Martin and Martin Short were (obviously) both great, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Selena Gomez, she is brilliant and plays her character so well.
Great cliffhanger to season 1 so looking forward to binging season 2 shortly.

Martin Short is definitely the star of the show. Just finished Season 3 myself which I thought was as good as S1.
S2 is still good, just a little less than the other two imo.

Death and Other Details is setup like a classic who-dunnit with a stupidly rich family all out for a vacation on a luxury liner (decked out like it's the forties).
Our youngest (9) drifted through the room to get a drink and then on his way back up to bed sat down to see what we were watching. It was all fairly tame at this point, nothing he hasn't seen before, with the casual mild swears and a mu'der, so I didn't pause it.
Literally the next scene, the daughter (soon to be CEO) was up against the window, tits bouncing around grinding herself into her girlfriends face as she noshed her out before both falling to the floor. WOAH! Where the fuck did that come from!?
So err, yeah ... SURPRISE!

In its defence it is rated 16+ on Disney.

In its defence it is rated 16+ on Disney. Oh yeah, absolutely not claiming innocence here. Just that the show leapt from what seemed an easy 5 straight to 11 on my 'randomly decided on-the-fly 10 point parenting appropriateness scale'.

Really enjoyed it. I’d seen 45 Years before, but I also watched Weekend from Haigh too.

X-Men ‘97 seems really good so far.
Just a few observations on the art style specifically. First, I’m so glad they didn’t go with the pseudo-anime style that every superhero show post-Young Justice has used. By going old, they feel fresh funnily enough. That said, it’s not an exact replica of the original show’s look. Where that one looked as if it tried to recreate Jim Lee’s art style in animated form, this almost looks as if Mike Allred had a long run on the old X-Men books immediately after Lee’s run. Also kind of admire how they made Magneto David Bowie. Old Magneto has old Bowie face, young Magneto in the flashback during.. episode 2, I think it was, looked like young Bowie.
It’s reviving my Marvel love after the last few shaky years.

That’s a shame as I’ve been really enjoying it - up to episode 9 in two nights.

In the current entertainment (and economy) climate, that hardly a SURPRISE

we recently noticed we could get disney via the lloyds bank thing dfunked has mentioned so been on a binge
Mandolorian possibly lands better if you're a star wars nerd. It's alright. Weird that they presumably paid big Pedro Pascal bucks and he only takes his helmet off once a series. Some of the aliens were nicked from a Muppets lockup and unintentionally hilarious.
The Bear is fucking amazing. Season 1 is excellent, season 2 is even better. There's a family christmas dinner episode in season 2 which is just legendary and should be used in place of all those dreary family dynamic theatre production plays English Lit students have to endure. Lots of b-roll footage of Chicago which is also fucking amazing.
Ahsoka is more star wars and it's also alright.
Andor. Oh yay more star wars. Might return later as I know it was well liked but we dropped after one episode, we're star warsed out. Too star warsy.
We dumped Wandavision halfway through the first episode. You either have to have some marvel appreciation, or find the aping of 1950s telly to be masterful rather than as dreary as actual 1950s telly, or be willing to sit through the setup to some presumed twist (maybe truman show-esque? dunno) or maybe we're just too dumb and culturally ignorant to understand it.
Only Murders In The Building is fab. Steve Martin! Everyone else also acts brilliantly, the script is excellent, and the set (that wallpaper!) and costume design rocks too. Two out of three seasons binged, third will be devoured next couple of weeks.
Moonknight is more marvel. Outside the big films (I think we probably only catch half of those, in random order) I don't think marvel is our bag. Dropped after a couple of episodes.

If you haven't already seen them, try Jessica Jones season 1 and Daredevil season 1. It's Marvel, but has a different vibe to all the current crop of Marvel shows, which I wouldn't recommend bothering with unless you're a big Marvel fan. I had the same issue with Wandavision. The idea is clever on paper, but the first 4 episodes are so ridiculously dull and unfunny that they're a struggle to get through. It gets better after that, but also more generically MCU. Mandalorian goes downhill after season 1, so... Andor really is the only hope.
In other genres, Shogun and Reservation Dogs both seem very well regarded.

yep Jessica Jones & Daredevil we caught on Netflix (I think) a few years back, liked season 1 of both, drifted off both in the later seasons. Jessica Jones actor was ace in Don't trust the B in apartment 23 btw
And yeah, think Reservation Dogs is next on the list after s3 Only Murders
