Standard is £7.99 which is probably good enough for most stuff on there.
Given we use it for bluey (which is also in iPlayer) and occasional stuff like Marvel then I’ll be switching to just getting it for a month or two at a time. Doing the same with other services, don’t need more than two at once.

They'll still find time to delete shows and films from the service to cut costs too, no doubt.

iPlayer might have slightly fewer Blueys but it does have the episode which Disney censored - Dad Baby
If it wasn’t for Bluey then me watching Marvel and the occasional FX/Hulu series would be the biggest user in the house and I could live with a Prime style sub for a month to binge arrangement.

My kids will just watch the same 10 episodes of any show hundreds of times anyway. I’m pretty sure we’re on at least the 20th watch or more of most of the episodes.
Similar with Pretzel and the Pups and Otis, both on Apple.

I was aggrieved at the price hike but last night noticed it has both Romancing The Stone and Jewel of the Nile on there and now feel like my Christmas is made.

Romancing the Stone holds up much better imo. We bought them last year in yet another "be me/have my childhood" moments with the kids.

New season of Extraordinary is starting on March 6th. Glad it got renewed as there's some great potential in it.

Two recommendations:
- Cristóbal Balenciaga (period drama about the fashion designer – think Phantom Thread) - Black Cake (period drama about a displaced Caribbean woman)

Not a recommendation as such but Disney really don't want you cancelling, had to go past several "you won't see this if you quit" messages. I'll also not see 120 be taken from my PayPal account either.
Disney are also going to be clamping down on account sharing in the near future so me splitting the price with my sister looks like it'd stop working too.

I'll be letting Disney lapse in May. We bought a yearly sub but it's not been used for a while. I don't know why, but it's always the last place I go looking for something to watch.

Excellent! Now just need to find time to watch it. Alongside The Holdovers and Oppenheimer.

This makes the 11.99 bargain I picked up on Apple TV last week quite annoying. Dammit. (Great movie though, so no huge regrets.)

What Dougs said. Time is my limiting factor. My days of staying up till midnight film watching are long past. By the time we've got the eldest into bed, done the cat/dog dance (they hate each other so have a well-oiled routine for night time so they avoid each other), it's 2230 and lights out. And the kids are ALWAYS THERE.

Shogun is pretty good fun if you want a big budget historical drama during the end of the Sengoku period.
Also got Poor Things to watch this week.

Very late to the party but have just finished season 1 of Only Murders in the Building, thoroughly enjoyed that it was very, very good. Steve Martin and Martin Short were (obviously) both great, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Selena Gomez, she is brilliant and plays her character so well.
Great cliffhanger to season 1 so looking forward to binging season 2 shortly.

Martin Short is definitely the star of the show. Just finished Season 3 myself which I thought was as good as S1.
S2 is still good, just a little less than the other two imo.
