Apparently the French Dispatch is disappearing from the 21st August. Disappearing if true.

Little Mermaid remake any good?
By good, I mean at least better than the shite that was Pinnochio.

My wife enjoyed it. It's pretty much a scene by scene remake, but there is the occasional new song. Not very many though.
A Disney fan would enjoy it

I haven’t seen the original Little Mermaid, but I tried the new one and didn’t make it far. First live actually Disney remake I’ve looked at. Don’t think I could stomach Aladdin, don’t like to be reminded that Robin Williams hanged himself and Will Smith didn’t.

The live action ones I've seen have all been 'ok', but they've all been missing the magic of the animated versions. The stories of disney animated movies are often pretty basic, so all the charm and character comes from the animation. It's hard to recapture that in real life.
Though it's also odd to refer to ones like Jungle Book and Lion King as 'live action' when they're pretty much entirely cg animation.
Not seen this one though. The reviews I read said that the main actress was decent, but everything else was pretty forgettable.

When they do Moana I assuming it’ll be a Ruffalo-Hulk job to CGI The Rock’s face onto a big computer body

Has anybody tried Moving yet? Seems to have pretty stellar ratings and sounds right up my street, but don't think I've even seen it mentioned here. Nearly finished S3 of Snowfall now (excellent!), so might take a break and check it out next.

If it's of interest for new or lapsed subs, there's a day left to claim their promo of £1.99 a month for 3 months. Or 3 months for £3 total with Tesco Clubcard rewards which i just did. Blatant tactics to claw back some new subs when it goes up to £10.99 a month, I'm going to watch Justified and few other things then most likely cancel again.

The club Lloyds benefit I mentioned earlier takes over your billing while it's active, so you don't necessarily have to do the usual thing of waiting until your current sub expires to redeem it.
No idea if the sub that's active will still be there if you cancel the Lloyds agreement mind you.
The not being able to stack codes thing has pissed me off in the past, but I can see why they do it (people would've snapped up multiple years of cheap Samsung codes if they allowed it)

Only Murders In The Building season 3 was another cracker. Can’t possibly top it in season 4, surely.

Only 3 episodes left here, but it just feels a bit too familiar. It peaked with S1 imo and has been downhill since then. I'm presuming this one will be another whodunnit where you don't actually have a hope of guessing who dunnit until the last episode. As soon as an episode starts with a new bit of evidence, you can just instantly dismiss whoever they suspect.
Selena Gomez is absolutely fucking woeful too. Just such a wooden actor when compared to the other two. She sounds and looks bored out of her mind in every scene.

Haven't finished the current series, but I think it's definitely a show that will overstay its welcome if they drag it out too much. There's just no need for it to, either, if you ask me.

It feels like one of those shows that was conceived as a single season one off but became too popular to be left at that. I do really like it though, that big old New York makes it feel like a Christmas film.

Season 3 best one so far. Absolute star turn from Meryl Streep.
Twists and turns to the end! I found it amazing throughout, I love the characters / actors playing themself.
Season 4 confirmed!

Just such a wooden actor when compared to the other two. She sounds and looks bored out of her mind in every scene. The show runner talked directly about this, and claimed there was more effort to pepper the series with clues from the start in season 3 to support the actual answers. I’m fine with Gomez. I always took her role to be likened to Daria, being kind of flat and depressed and unimpressed with the two old theatre hags she’s with. I’ll admit that a big part of why I enjoyed S3 so much was the theatre and musical stuff. I wasn’t totally onboard until Streep sang the lullaby song she sings in.. ep 3 maybe. And the guest roles and cameos were great, especially the guy from Godzilla. I only just realised they dropped the thing where someone famous moves into Sting’s apartment. I’d advocate for Godzilla guy to move in there in S4 and just be like Newman from Seinfeld, a perpetual enemy character.

Wanted to watch The Boogeyman and Just Watch says its on Disney plus to stream, but I've searched for it on the TV app and it doesn't come up. Annoying.
So, I had to get the Android app, log in there (searched on the app and it still didn't show), then search for the Boogeyman on google and click on the disney plus link so it would play on the app so I can play on the TV. Very user friendly Disney.

Was going to say the justwatch link takes me to it, but yeah you need the app installed. Presumably just takes a while for their search index to update.
