Just done the 3 body problem puzzles in the archives now that was good shit, make me feel smart for solving stuff, not shitty for not having cat-like reflexes and incredible controller coordination. I think I need an extra power to get further than I am though, which means a long trek back out, then another one to get back later. I wish there were more fast travel things, just let me zip between trees.

I've just done that bit. Those that have completed it, is that around the halfway point of the game? Still have loads left to explore and don't want it to end. Off memory, no, I'd say it was more like 1/3 of the way through. I reckon less than a third in. The game is Yuge.

Just got to the big snake boss fight and got battered first go around. Thought this would be quite tricky and then battered him the 2nd go around. Still found the Forest boss the hardest I've fought so far but they've all been fun with no frustrating ones. Can't believe how good the game is though.

The Raging sea is class. This is up there with Hollow Knight, and I absolutely loved that game.

I really need to get to Hollow Knight. I’ve had it for years.

I’m finding it about 80% great and 20% infuriating. Some of the puzzle design is wonderful but the spike traversal sections make my blood boil. I do appreciate being able to turn environmental damage down though so I can keep trying until I finally fluke my way through.

I do appreciate being able to turn environmental damage down though so I can keep trying until I finally fluke my way through. I’ve been surprised that they haven’t done the same to me! They’re so reminiscent of the same bits in Hollow Knight that were absolutely nails and had me sticking a boot through the TV. The difference here is that they’re always quite short. Definitely takes me a dozen attempts but I can feel myself getting more and more muscle memory each time. I did the NW quadrant last on the quest that lets you pick what to do next after a certain point. The spike section in that? No bother. Did mist of it on instinct. Pretty sure if I’d gone that way first I’d have fucking hated it. Anyways. Feels like I’m homing in on the final stretch with this. Really enjoyed it. Solid 8/10, pushing a 9. Fails the Hollow Knight value test though.

Hollow Knight definitely was definitely under-priced. Should have been £30 minimum.

And... done. At least to the story end, I might go back and finish of a couple of quests but no way I'm going near those stupid spike puzzles again.
Also, seemed like the longest credits ever, even on fast speed they took ages. Do we really need to see the names of every Ubisoft employee and all the associated companies?

Yes. If someone contributes something to a game they deserve their name in it.
You can always just turn it off if you don't want to watch the credits.

I'm at the point of no return, but decided to mop up the map and get some more upgrades because I don't want it to end.

Reading Nazo's update in the Recently Completed Games thread, I realised that a non-zero number of you people played the game with something other than the Persian audio option! MONSTERS! ABSOLUTE MONSTERS! Anyways - I bought all the treasure maps and have pretty much maxed out my stats, got all the amulets, and all but four of the coins. Stumbled across a couple of side quests that I'd completely missed, too! Guess it's time to do the final boss then, with my 15 health segments and fully upgraded loadout.

How do you know I wasn't playing in Persian? I didn't specify which language voice overs I thought were shit.

Heh. Aaaaaand I’m done. 95% completion. Just a small number of lore items and three or four coins to collect. All but two achievements done too, and I suspect if I can just do that effing three bells challenge that’d get me the remainder. Such a good game. I’m really sad it’s over. Zero compulsion to go again, interestingly. But I would Day One any DLC.

Love that this game has a Farsi language option. I'll be picking this up soon, best on Switch?

It looks and plays great on Switch. Sharp visuals. 60fps. The Joy Con sticks will be slightly snappier for 2D movement. And these genre always plays well in portable mode too.

I played it on PS4 and kinda wished I'd gone with Switch, I think the controller would have suited it better. I reckon I would have flown through those spike sections with less squishy buttons!

£27 on the eshop at the moment until the 7th... Very tempted even though I've got a monster backlog

The one on the secret floor below the main save area / central hub nearly made me cry.

Rumoured new PoP Rogue-like on the way from the Dead Cells team.

I’m sitting pretty at 95 hours on Dead Cells. Turns out I’ve still not accessed half the DLC I paid for!
In theory it could be great, but I believe a lot of the original Dead Cells team have moved on.

Heh, I thought I'd go back and clean up some outstanding side quests. After fighting the final boss for one for about 5 minutes I noticed his health had got stuck on 1/4 and wasn't going down at all. I wondered if there was some trick to it and checked some guides. Nope, just glitched, reloaded and he went down in about 30 seconds

A shame to hear the game still has bugs. I only remember the parrot bug, but that was a week long drama, at least.

It was annoyingly doable the whole time, but I still laboured through a good 30 attempts before I could execute it. Loved it. Just two coins left and that secret floor you mentioned left now and I’ll have done the lot. Might slow down a bit now though. First time I’ve hit 1000GP/platinumed something in what must be years. Can’t wait for the DLC. Hope it’s not shit or just ramping up the difficulty. The balance is just about right for me as is.

Really like the art style for that. I like this new PoP direction from Ubi.
