Demo out now and it's...
Pretty pretty pretty pretty good.
Metroidvania type of affair with good platforming and really quite good combat.
You should try it.

Was going to start this thread yesterday also after trying the demo. Shot from almost zero interest to the top of my list based purely on the action - hadn’t clocked at first the metroidvania element.

It being a side scroller removes pretty much all my interest, despite PoP being one of my favorite franchises.*
A proper Sands of Time style game would have been a day one purchase, or even a remaster of Sands of Time would be a day one purchase on Switch.
Glad to hear it's decent though. Maybe I'll grab it in a sale sometime.
*yes, I'm aware OG PoP was a side scroller. I loved it back in the day, but it doesn't really appeal these days as I loved the traversal in the SoT games.

It’s on my wish list, but I have to finish South Park first, which happens to be another decent Ubisoft title. Not too many of those around these days.

Demo is fairly short so if it doesn't it's not the biggest problem but hopefully it does. Demo ends just as you find the first boss so it could be awkward for it to resume there haha.
Unlocks tomorrow on ubi connect so I will let you know if there is no answer by then.

This always looked so cool to me when it was revealed so I'm glad to see it's reviewing well. The demo was great, really fantastic combat for a Metroidvania like this with some nice touches like unique parry kill animations for specific enemy types. The ability to take a screenshot of the environment and pin it to the world map is some genuine innovation I hope to see in Metroidvanias going forward, what a nice addition. To me Dread is one of the best of it's type in recent memory, I hope this can match it but so far so good.

Typically it’s trials that carry, not demos. They need to be built specifically in order to do so. I’d very much doubt if it does, especially without them already announcing it.

The demo gave you stuff that you wouldn’t normally have at that point in the game from the sound of it too so I can’t see it carrying over.

Unisoft connect £15 if you finish it in a month. Unlikely to be a game you will play multiple times anyway.

Time will tell as people play the full game. I guess combat is the easy thing to sell in the game as exploration and platforming will not. But to be clear, the combat IS a selling point, it feels fantastic to play. Don't be surprised if people put out DMC style combo videos from this, it's definitely possible.

I played through the demo a couple of times yesterday, bought the deluxe on PS5 and had half hour before work today. I wish I hadn't started as i just want to go home and play it now.
