We will never find out what rhaegyr gets up to alone in a hotel room! Whether he is topless weights person or a lounging in the bath tub kind of guy will forever be a mystery.
Edit - Hi, new page!

The Australian S2 vignettes managed to be even more cheesy than the UK ones, person in bed reading hears noise and looks towards the door etc.

One episode in and the reality stars are all still a bit too up themselves and overly knowing.
Hopefully they’ll calm down once the murders and games get going the way they did in the first season and in Australia. Although without civilians to balance out their personas it is a slight worry.
Lovely to see Alan pantomiming again though.

It was quite funny that some of the celebs hadn’t even heard of the programmes the others were from. So not just us who has no clue then.
Seeing Wilder there was a surprise.
And Scotty Pippen’s wife is with Michael Jordan’s son? There’s a story to tell there

Finished the US season 2 last night (well, most of it - haven't watched the post final episode, but not sure I'll bother). Hadn't seen season 1, so first time seeing the American spin on it. Nowhere near as good as the UK version, but still shows that he core concept holds together well. Bit of a shame that the challenges were all identical to the UK one. It is already the weakest part of the show and knowing how each one plays out doesn't help. The roundtable, plotting and scheming were all good fun though and it was interesting seeing one or two of the faithfuls really going for playing the game and having a few manipulations of their own. It really did feel like the game could break at one point though when it was so obvious post Dan leaving who the traitors were. Perhaps partly this was seeing it from the outside, but there was clearly no other reason for him to suddenly pull out Phaedra's name other than her being traitor and he hoped to get her out and everyone to love him for sniffing out a traitor. She also looked guilty as anything for the next few episodes, but, again, that could just be us knowing everything and the editing. Having celebs does diminish it a bit I think. It felt like quite a few of them were playing a character. Didn't know who any of them were, besides John Bercow - who I'm still confused as to why he was there, but he came more and more into his own as the show went on - which probably meant it took me longer to warm to them then for the US audience it was made for. I also felt the diary room moments felt increasingly fake. Always felt they had an odd tone in the UK one as well, but here it was even worse. My guess is they film these bits after the fact, some of it maybe even well after the show has been done. Show them relevent clips and then ask them to comment on them as if they were narrating their thoughts at the time. Just seems odd the way they talk about something that is about to revealed as if they don't know what is going to happen, yet they obviously do by the time they are recording those sections. That combined with them being celebs just adds to the air of it being a little more scripted. Plus, they obviously don't care about the money and I suspect they are all being paid a shit ton whether they win or not. The ending was really great though. Proper gasp when there was three left and both Trishelle and CT chose to banish again and then again when Trishelle picked CT to banish resulting in a tie. Great moment. Maybe not quite up there with our ending, but still great TV.

The first American season was closer in spirit to the UK one than this second season seems to be.
Alan Cumming was playing a brilliant camp Richard O’Brien Crystal Maze style gamesmaster in the first but in the second it all feels a bit too knowing and overly scripted. There was a mix of civvies and celebs in the first and for me having an all celeb cast in the second has punctured the drama a bit because they’re not letting down their tv personas enough.
It seems silly to criticise such a structured show as contrived but compared to the other five series I’ve watched this one does feel like its gone more that way.
We’re making slow progress because its lost that “gotta see what happens next” energy of the others.
Plus Euros and Love Island are dominating evening tv here.

Finally got it finished. Stand by the above with it feeling a bit forced early on but it really came into its own during the second half. It was obvious that the casting had a lot of attempts to seed drama - pairs of people who didn’t get along on their own shows, a million Real Housewives - but what made it for me was the factionalism that emerged with the Peter Pals v Housewives.
The ending was a stunner too. Not quite the jaw dropper some of the others have been but still a real twist. After the first few episodes I was concerned an all celeb cast wouldn’t work but I think in the end it paid off. I don’t think it’d work as well if they stacked a British series with the usual casualties who end up eating spider pubes in the jungle but for the Americans these reality show professionals suit it. Cumming really came into his own too. I do enjoy the whole Crystal Maze conceit of the game being ‘real’.

I'm already watching other country's versions of Taskmaster. Can't keep up with Traitors like that as well. Does make the UK series an extra treat mind. Such a good show.

Once it gets moving US S2 is good stuff.
Haven’t seen anything NZ yet but it’ll take something to get over Aussie S2

Haha yeah it was my favourite ending, absolutely brutal.
Although the last US series had a good ending too.

Ploughed my way through US S2 and really enjoyed it, some good play from Traitors and Faithfuls but some still undone by people who were closed minded about things and wouldn't change their opinions. Much better than Australia S2 (bar the ending) and the ending was pretty memorable I do think MJ has a right to feel fucked over, it was obvious that once Kate was gone that was it. A major issue with the US version was very much highlighted by people knowing each other, it completely throws off the show's dynamics at times and people who are completely strangers is why the show really works. FFS having a known real life couple go in there was a huge mistake, the secret one in UK S1 worked fine but this was a poor choice.

I thought the most interesting thing the couple in US2 brought was the gossip factor that Scotty Pippen’s ex-wife is in a relationship with Michael Jordan’s son.
Agree that having too many pre-existing friendships undermined the game at times. I enjoyed the serious and it gave the show a different dynamic but I wouldn’t want to see if become an ongoing feature of the format.

Didn’t realise NZ was going for a mixed civilian/celeb cast. I’m not sure I’m a fan of that as a way of playing the game as there’s an obvious power imbalance in a lot of situations. Two episodes in and what a first roundtable

If you haven’t watched it give Traitors NZ a go. The tasks are a bit more budget but there are some great personalities and the game is as compelling as ever. Spoilers for the whole series Colin is one fabulous man. Dylan and Sam probably post on here. Police officers never come out well. Brooke is a master player. The final challenge was a big surprise. I like that this host takes the Alan Cumming approach of being a gamesmaster rather than presenter, albeit with a totally different character to the one Cumming plays. The “gamer” who bailed early on for a quick payout didn’t deserve to be there. What a dumb gimmick that scene was. It felt like they really cranked the emotional content toward the end in a way the others haven’t.
