If you have a Fireaway pizza near you, I would definitely give them a go. By far the tastiest takeaway pizza I've had in a long time. Add the proper mozzarella for a £1, heavenly. Decent prices too, 3 x 12" signature pizzas for £25,

I think getting the right dilution of vinegar is probably critical. I haven't had any when down in embra for years, but it's always amazingly watery, so must be fairly dilute. If you just mixed vinegar with the sauce I imagine that'd be a bit overpowering. Might even split the components in the sauce I guess? What happened with your experiment? Mate, it was about 30 years ago. I can't really remember.

I work in a lab and there's no experiments gone that wrong that I can still remember them after that length of time!

We have a Fireaway here. Maybe I'm spoilt having some top notch pizza joints here in Manchester, but I found them bland more than anything. A fairly poor Neopolitan style attempt with no colour and barely risen dough with ingredients nabbed from Domino's.
Off on a slight tangent but for a cheap and nasty pizza at home, Gino D'Acampo's range in Asda are leagues above most takeaways for me. He has them made over in Italy, branded with his own name to be sold over here.
Little more expensive than some other brands, but pretty damn authentic for what they are!
Suddenly self aware I take pizza a little to seriously

Hopefully you enjoy enough, Anthonyuk maybe has a better selection than we do. Haha. Franchises can certainly be hit or miss. There's a freshmex up in Aberdeen which is great but my daughter said the one in Glasgow was awful in comparison.

Went for pizza there before and it was so shit that we didn't even use the gift card they gave us as an apology for it being awful.

Back home from Mexico and ready to enjoy all the shit fast food Ireland has to offer in the next couple of weeks.
Started with a 4 in 1 from the Chinese last night, which is rice, chips, curry sauce and chicken wedged into a plastic container, dripping with MSG. Was bloody gorgeous.
Not sure whether a chicken kebab or a pizza is next up.

Call me a heretic, but I’ve always balked at double carbs in a dish. Lasagne and chips is another one I can’t get on with.

Ha, I was actually going to ask the thread if pizza and chips is common outside of Ireland? Very common here in any non-chain pizzeria but not something I’ve seen much abroad at all.

Not very common but I'm on board with it tbh.

If I’m sharing a pizza at home I’ll sometimes chuck some fries in if I’m feeling piggy. It’s a good ‘council tea’.

That was a context-specific chip. Now we're just talking about back-of-freezer meals.

Ooh, McCain’s frozen chips are a disgrace! They’re only real chips if they come from the Maris Pipére region of France!
…
Wedges? Basically chips mate
