I went under the knife about 5 years ago. Local anesthetic. Not really painful during the procedure, but there was a very weird and unpleasant pulling feeling as they tugged on the little tubes. Recovery was fine for me, minimal swelling/soreness and I was back out for a run just a few days later. Afterwards you get a doctor's order to jack off twenty times. I think you can get it done non-invasively now?

Have been thinking about it myself too, we have one kid, tried for years for another (with a couple of misses) and have got to the point where we're agreed we're done trying. Don't want to make peace with that decision and then it happens (even if a long shot)...anyway, that was an overshare 😆

I must've missed the memo that they were switching to non-invasive. Got it done a year ago the old skool way and it was mostly fine. Worst part was the anaesthetic going in (they really jam that needle in there!)
One side didn't seem to numb as well as the other so I felt it a bit more, and funnily enough that side bruised far worse than the other. I guess this experience is irrelevant if you're getting the newfangled method (and don't let it put you off anyway)
Took the best part of a year for me to get signed off due to nonmotile little fellas still hanging around in postal samples. Ended up getting referred to a specialist before finally getting signed off.

Yep 12 years ago now. No problems, even drove myself home after (you're not supposed to). Didn't even need pain killers, but I think I was lucky really.
Just follow the advice; rest up, wear tight pants, shower when they tell you to, take it easy.
It's also a good excuse to get your partner involved for getting samples to send off. It's pretty much they only time they can't complain 😅
