And it’s also a pretty cool location.

Just make sure you buy everything you want from the trader in the crèche before going on a slaughtering rampage. I'm really low on acess to traders because Volo never appeared at camp.

So I’m in Act 3 and there is SO MUCH TO DO
I’ve been playing through on Tactical and trying to do as much of everything as possible. Currently well into level 10.

Things have definitely picked up a bit now I’ve reached Moonrise. Haven’t quite figured out how to release the prisoners without causing mayhem yet though.

There aren't any negative consequences from causing a bit of mayhem in that particular place, as long as the quest NPCs don't get killed.

I accidentally ended up in that area of the tower last night via a brief prison stint and after meeting the warden was quite happy to cause some mayhem. Looking forward to giving the whole place a good kicking.

I’m sure I will end up causing some mahem at some point. Seems like a lot of enemies if it all kicks off though. For now I think I’m going to go get the nightsong as it seems quite important. Then I’ll figure out the best way to release the prisoners . Which may well just involve killing everyone.

Without wanting to spoil anything, it would be best if you did the latter of those two things first. I speak from experience.

Right. I need to get the little fella a hammer or something, or just start pulling levers in the wardens office 🤔 . Or just start attacking people.

Personally, the way I did it was to take out the warden and guards before springing the escape. If people witness you doing a crime and they remain alive, you get an "enemy of justice" condition that aggros the whole tower. Again, speaking from grim experience.

So just start attacking people then . Gotcha Although that sounds like a pretty significant crime too but whatever works!

The important thing is NO WITNESSES. If you leave the area and you're an enemy of justice, you did bad.

Ok. So kill everyone in the area . Got it. It’s what I would have ended up doing anyway as I usually fail with anything more nuanced.

There is another approach, round the back.

I did it but I think I may go back and do it again. I released the gnomes and tieflings so they could help but they just got insta killed. . I think I’m better off doing that after.

The scene with Shadowheart towards the end of act 2 with the nightsong was immense. Also first time I've save scummed because gutting Shadowheart was a bit too much for me. Crazy how many significant different options there are there. What a game.

Replaying act 1 as durge.
Killing the Grove is rough going but hey at least I get to have some fun at the afterparty.
Toughest thing to deal with was Gale's disappointment. I could have killed you early on you ungrateful twonk!
But im a pussy and going to reload and resist the urge 😅

Ok I redid with a much better outcome. Kind of feels like cheating but whatever. Now everyone is free (apart from the duke who I haven’t found yet) and I can crack on.

By far the worst thing about this game is how rarely it auto saves. I just lost 90 minutes of play time. Normally you would expect it to at least save on fast travel, quest updates etc. Did quite a lot in that 90 minutes too

I'm playing on PC albeit with Xbox controller. Quick save is simple as Start and then Y, no? Basically do it every 10 mins or so

Yeah but I was engrossed and keep forgetting. I guess I’m so used to games autosaving after each event.
Need to change my habits I suppose.

It's a fair point. I probably would save less if the autosaves were more frequent.

Played about an hour yesterday (ps5) first time in well over a month, only very early in game obs' I want to play but I'm frightened!(lol)is it too much of a time sink ? will I understand all the various systems ? In the end I just redesigned my character (the magic mirror at camp) to look more like Mrs Duffman, charleys are not big enough though The few hours I have played remind me a lot of DA inquisition, (is that wrong?)I have not completed that but have put lots of hours into and enjoyed. Maybe BG3 is for me. I bought it for my missus but she could not get on with the ps5 so ended up spending 220 hours completing on PC.

I’ve not been too bad but I’ve been caught out by it a few times. This time I fast travelled, moved about 3 quests forward. About 4 inspiring events. A few new locations. No auto save.
Got to try to remember where I went and everything I did now.

Maybe BG3 is for me. I bought it for my missus but she could not get on with the ps5 so ended up spending 220 hours completing on PC. It's enormous, clearly. I'm 50 hours in and still not finished Act 1, so I'm guessing I'll end up at around 200 hours, which is ridiculous. BUT, the staggering thing for me is that in that time I've not had a single sense of boredom or repetition. I'm easily bored by large, open world games and this is utterly engrossing. _Everything_ is brilliant. The systems have tonnes of depth, but somehow they've made them accessible too. On controller, the actions/spells wheel is a thing of beauty. For once, I don't feel I'm getting a hobbled experience playing on a controller from my sofa. My partner plays it on the Steam Deck and I play it on the telly. A modern couple lol.
