Wow, I nearly got wiped by the Gnolls just north of the Risen Road. I'm out of practice at prepping for a battle I know is coming - forgot to save just beforehand, and somehow only my first character got included in the turn order for the surprise round. Otherwise it would have been very different.

Just took out the three goblin leaders. Did it more efficiently this time - you can take out Minthara and Gut without any combat. Dror Ragzlin I wanted to fight because I wanted his loot. However, despite no one banging any drums, gobbos in other parts of the complex became alerted.. And down at the Worg pens we got into combat immediately. Nevertheless, it wasn't too hard to get through it.
Not sure I can be bothered with Auntie Ethel, so I'm going to aim for the Githyanki creche and Rosymorn monastery as I didn't go there last time.

Ok thats good to know. I was starting to worry about resting at camp in case I would wake up as an unconsenting participant in a bearbang. I got propositioned by Mizora after she started hanging out in camp. I went along with it and afterwards Karlach was pretty scathing and upset. As second nicest forumite at Eurogamer I couldn't continue with this so I reloaded and turned Mizora down. I'm now in the Steel Watch Foundry and looking to get through to the endgame ASAP. Can't be arsed to save the Gondians. Plan is to destroy Steel Watch, kill Gortash and get the associated trophy (which I messed up on my first play through), kill Orin and then head through to the finale. I missed the ending where you become an illithid so need to do that one too. Hopefully I then just need to do one playthrough as Dark Urge and then the Tactician mode to get the platinum.

I'm still on my first playthrough, 150hrs played, just got to find a Wyrm then kill Gortash before the grand finale.
This game has been like savouring a fine wine.
I also turned down Mizora because I didn't want to upset Shadowheart, however I did get dirty with Raphael's female clone, simply to avoid a fight. Shadowheart wasn't in the party so I think I've gotten away with it..

Mizora is certainly, um, my type, so I couldn't resist. I also reloaded though, as I couldn't bear being mean to Lae'zel. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the romances (at least the two I did) fitted into the character stories, and the Lae'zel one ended up being very sweet, which was also a surprise.
Also somehow accidentally saved all the suicidal Gondians on my second playthrough. My party was ludicrously overpowered though, so I suppose I don't get any bragging rights. I'm still on my first playthrough, 150hrs played, just got to find a Wyrm then kill Gortash before the grand finale. This game has been like savouring a fine wine. Shadowheart wasn't in the party so I think I've gotten away with it.. I went through the Temple of Shar without Shadowheart in my party and she got mega upset at me for rescuing the Nightsong. She flounced out of my party. My current party is me as a bard, Karlach as my shag piece, Laezel and Gale. Works well with two melee fighters and two casters.

The sexy time with the Emperor was fucking weird. Even when he switched to dream visitor form...

There we go, had a good session and now Act 2 is finally complete. Hopefully haven't ruined too many things.

FYI, patch 7 is out and its a 10.6GB download. So rather than having a decent play through tonight I had to wait for an hour and a half before i could get started. Pah!

Yeah, it took longer to patch than to download. Started on Act 3 or at least intended to. Now Shads has gone platinum and also taken the next step towards full-Illithid… Let’s see what the Emperor can do for us

I've brought my start of Act 3 evil playthrough back out of retirement for Update 7. Have burnt through Rivington, Orin is in my sights.

I'm right near the end of my second playthrough and am seemingly a bit stuck. I'll put spoiler tags although maybe they aren't necessary... I used invisibility to simply walk through the upper courtyard and through the door to the High Hall. Next step is to get past the Intellect Devourers and up to the bottom of the brain stem, and also past the nautiloid barrage. I'm sure that last time I manage to Fly/Misty Step past this bit, but something now means that I can't fly as far as I used to. It's either a patch update or it's because my character has become an illithid* and that somehow affects the way the fly mechanic works. Playing through the nautiloid strikes normally is kinda hard - Gale got blasted off into a chasm which was quite disappointing. And the indicators for the strikes can be a little vague so it's easy to misplace a character and leave them exposed.
I really want to get this done so I can get started on Astrobot
*to get the ceremorphosis trophy.

i had guilt about using the nuclear option to skip the final stage of that fight (and the sending a scout ahead to trigger it) because i wanted to finish and go play other things.

Done it. Used invisibility potions to cross the top of the netherbrain. Only managed to get two characters through the portal but that was enough. Other two plus the Emperor were downed in the combat yet appeared in the final cut scenes.
I still need to play through twice more - once for dark urge and once for tactician.
But that's for another day - I started Astrobot this morning. 😊

3rd play through now over. Got an Evil Durge ending.
Also I've got 49/54 chievos at the moment on Steam. The 4 other plot ones I can hit up on a quick run through of a none Durge character in the future... but one of those pricks staring at me is the Honour Mode one.

but one of those pricks staring at me is the Honour Mode one. Which ones are you missing? I feel like honour mode is partly about getting through the first few levels as fast as possible, partly about knowing what gear to get where, and partly about doing the minimum in Act 3 to get to the end.

Yeah and doing boss fights when you know you're good and ready. Probably also bothering to use potions and oils/poisons all the time. It's more the mental load of having to remember to do it. XCOM I've done it and yeah you have to perfect run the beginning and then it's a breeze. The other ones are story ones. So all spoilers. Breaking Wylls contract. Both good runs I saved the Duke instead. Evil Bhaal run I killed everyone.
The saving the Goblin repeatedly and saving every tiefling. 2nd play through I had a crack at it but you ALWAYS kill one so failed it.
Oh and shag The Emperor. Which I'd not noticed and spent all my evil play through slagging him off.
I think doing them on an honour play through would be difficult. So I'm thinking playing as a named character maybe Gail to play as a Spellcaster. But honour mode is likely it's own run. Maybe next year I'll do it instead of blowing money in a steam sale.
