Your link is broke because it has the same URL twice.. Seems like a fun idea though, make your companion bear bigger and able to jump further, then make it jump on someone.

There was great video someone made in the forge of "Owl Bear from the top rope" set to WWE music.
I had a few weeks break after finally getting to Baldur's Gate. I definitely think there's a momentum lull there and the way it broadens out isn't entirely positive. Haven't yet had the compulsion to keep playing I had in the second half of Act 1 and all of Act 2. One thing that doesn't help is I struggle to remember to who everyone is. Wish it had a Witcher 3 style glossary feature.
Still great though. Quite enjoyed puzzle solving in Sorcerer Sundries for a bit of variety last night.

I'm in Act 2 and convinced someone (as Shadowheart) to get stabbed by his own workers for educational purposes.
Love this game.

Not had as much time to play recently but the city is gradually revealing itself. It's extraordinary how many different directions you can go off in and threads you can pull. It's probably the most convincing city I can recall in an RPG. Still the usual fantasy videogame problem of a chronic lack of housing per capita but otherwise very believable in terms of scale and layout. The level of detail is fantastic.
It has made me reflect on RPGs in general. Going back to the dawn of 3D RPGs there is always a narrative pull of 'must get to the big City', and it's always something I look forward to with great expectations. Yet when you get to one, the game invariably gets worse and I think it's true of almost every RPG I can think of. BG3 despite having the 'best' city still has this issue. There's just something about having lots of discrete buildings serving different purposes close together: shops, taverns etc that stalls the narrative. I feel obliged to check everything out due to FOMO and whilst this is rewarded in BG3, it doesn't maintain the intrigue and adventure that being on a journey had.
The parts of Baldur's Gate city I've enjoyed the most are when I've found a dungeon of sorts and that sense of purpose has returned. Equally if an epic RPG didn't have any large towns/cities to explore I'd probably feel a bit cheated so I guess I'm fickle.

I can understand that, it's also a question of time management. When I was younger I would love going in each shop and speaking to everyone but I really don't have time for that anymore so I actually try to avoid experiences which have that as part of the gameplay.
It's a shame as I am sure I'm missing out on some great games.

Pretty beefy patch out today. Personal highlight:
"You can now dismiss a recruited companion from your party while speaking to the companion you want to replace them with."

Also getting closer to that perfect snogging to go along with the Angus and thongs, apparently:

Just spent the last 5 hours in the House of Hope . _5 hours_. There is no chaff in this game. Crazy. I killed Raphael. Hardest fight yet, blimey. Two of my guys got killed and scraped through with no spells left. . Thank fuck for Karlach's heavy hitting.

Anyone know how to use bardic/combat inspiration? I’ve got reactions enabled on the character I cast it on, but it never pops up a tooltip for it. Bearing in mind I’m a level 7 bard, I don’t think I’ve had my moneys worth in that ability!

It should simply be a buff that automatically applies to their rolls, whether they're reaction rolls or any other kind. You can check the combat log if you want to be sure it's being applied; there should be an extra 1d8 added to attacks, saving throws, etc.
Depending on what College you've chosen you might also have some other stuff related to Bardic Inspiration, at least Swords and Valour, though I don't remember the details off the top of my head.

I never played bard in BG3, but in real DnD you have 10 min of game time to choose to apply/add your bardic inspiration to one roll. You can wait till after the main roll but before you find out if it's successful.
BG3 has changed the rules for some aspects of the game.

I'm a bard. You just spam the Bardic Inspiration as secondary action. Basically helps with the dice rolls. I've used it all game. V handy buff.

That’s weird then. I tried it last night and couldn’t seem to get it to work. I’m sure it’s not because I apply it to Karlach, and it never gives me the opportunity to use it on a damage roll, and the buff still sits there and doesn’t let me re-apply.

You shouldn't have to do anything after it's cast, it should just be added automatically to rolls. Again, check the combat log.

You just apply it to the party member and it runs in the background, no other action required except to reapply it after you die or long rest

Bardic Inspiration doesn't apply to damage, just attacks, skill checks, and saving throws.

To add to the others, it can only be used once per team member per battle. It lasts for a while.

Surely it doesn’t add 1d8 to every single hit roll AND damage roll for every single attack? It also seems to persist through fights until a long rest as well. Will give the combat log a check next time I’m on, thanks. Might just be a Karlach specific bug as I’m sure I used it on Shadowheart last night and it disappeared.
