/high-five dasbooter  Yeah I’m just finishing exploring the opening area at the moment so might switch up my party a bit. I got the wand. Just needed to take a few steps forward to see where to use it Do you need space in your party though, as he doesn’t seem to be following? |

I don't know how many pets you can have at your command at once, but I've had him and Scratch at same time before |

I missed both Scratch and the owlbear.. I killed the owlbear's mother (by accident) and got the cub killed later (sort of by accident). I'm a terrible person. |

I recommend a complete restart to experience the joys of having both together in your camp. Care more about those two fuckers than any of the potatoes in Starfield.

I love how the game is full of chance moments that can influence your game. I'm finally in Baldur's Gate. I ended up on the rooftops and entered the brothel from there. I had a short fight where I suddenly noticed Lae'zel is missing. She was stuck behind some doorway 1 building over. I manually get her unstuck and bring her to the next building. The party is on the far side of the building. I let Lae'zel jump down a level from the roof on the near side of the building. I see a door and think "I'll just cut through there" to get from the near side to the far side via the interior of the building. She walks right into the devil's chambers and starts a dialogue with him.
My Character would have refused any deal he proposes.
But here's Lae'zel, on her own, being offered a deal that gives her exactly what she wants.
It would have felt out of place for her to refuse it, so I let her make the deal and now the whole party has to roll with it. |

Same I got so caught up in the under dark that I had barely explored the opening area at all. Finding loads of stuff. Think I’m nearly done. At level 5 I think I’m a bit OP, but I’m fine with that. |

I thought I was done with Act 1 then realised I'd missed a couple of hidden caches, the whole spiders lair and masterwork weapon quests at Blighted Village, now I'm trying to figure out how to get to the Shar Temple at Grymforge.
Since I can't Misty Step or Fly onto the floating platform I may try leaving an Idol of Shar on the broken bridge to see if that'll make it hover over..
I've also picked up a small chest and am using it to store a collection of cosmetic hats.. I miss the days before I had useful headgear and my party just went round looking like bumpkins in pointy caps.

Like the Nightsong quest which also apparently continues in Act 2 or the Githyanki Creche which I wanted to find but didn't want to go the Mountain Pass route. |

This fucken game. 30 hours in and I've just met the secondary avatar I created right at the start of the game lol. Totally forgot about him.
Andddddd there's a new brain power option on my menu.
Just drenched in content. Quite ridiculous. And none of it is filler (looking at you Starfield)

Right I’m done with the first area now. Back to the grymforge! Think I’ll circle back to the mountain pass later.
It’s true though, every part of the map I went to had its own little story going on. Always worth pursuing what’s there as well. So far it really does feel like there is very little padding.

I’m playing on console and it’s fine, but no idea how it compares to pc. I’ve had a few freezes, while it auto saves, and it gets a bit stuck in combat sometimes. But generally it’s fine so far.

Think this is going to have to go on my Christmas list. I don't have a very good PC though, is it still worth picking up on console? If it helps, the PC requirements aren't terribly cutting edge. I have a fairly old laptop (going on 5 years now), and it runs just fine on that. |

I used a controller despite playing on PC. They did a pretty good job of making it play well on a pad IMO.

I'm amazed at how well it plays on controller. The inventory is shit but doubt keyboard/mouse does anything to alleviate that. Otherwise it's great.
Things really escalate quickly in the crèche...

Oddly, in the cut scenes her hair was back to black, rather than the new blonde..
